Photographed by Satellite: Jesus Fucking Christ |
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/07/15/google_spots_jesus/
An amusing and brief article covering a photograph of sand dunes
which shows a vague outline of a human face -- which could very
well be Charles Manson but which believers in the occult will
almost certainly pretend is Jesus Fucking Christ.

This reminds me of a picture of an image posted on a door in a treatment
center I was once in. Everyone looking at the "image" swore it was Jesus. So
I finally went before it to give it a look-see. And what did Mr.
Atheist...Mr. Pagan...see? I told the anxious "clients" around me that it
was, "A hippy." This drew groans and head-shaking. Well what was I supposed
to say? What do you do with images like this one? Say that Jesus likes to
prove he exists by appearing on burnt toast and sand dunes?

That's downright spooky looking! I guess somebody probably conquered
the people before they could finish the mouth and chin/beard.

Quick - someone call Richard Hoagland. He could write another dozen books
on this one...

Yes. Unfortunately for the most Creationists in the "west," the
image of the Ark's stern reads "Utnapishtim's Ark."

I wonder how many cultists have flocked to Google Maps to search Turkey.

Hmmm...I only see one face, not two. And /certainly/ no fucking
going on. If anything, the dude's asleep. So where do you get this
notion of some hot gay god-on-god action in the desert?
Cheers,

Hmmm..... looks suspiciously like some Photoshop trickery to me....
Which, of course, it is. But the fundies won't get the joke.

Actually, it isn't. The same image is available from the original
Google site:
http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=-16.337013,-71.959763&spn=0.110893,0.158186&t=k&hl=en
The Google satelite feature's really pretty nifty. You can even click
& drag the map around to go from any point to any point on the surface
of the planet at whatever resolution you wish to use. I'll bet with
some good searching, you could find a million different "pictures"
plastered all across the planet. :-)
