Pig Shoots & Kills Suspect In Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO
A Colorado Springs police officer shot and killed a fugitive
wanted by federal agents and the El Paso County Sheriff's
Office. The shooting followed a short car and foot chase in
Colorado Springs. El Paso County agents from the Alcohol
Tobacco & Firearms were conducting surveillance on the
wanted man in the 1200 block of N. Weber St. They notified
the Colorado Springs Police since the residence is within
the city. The police department's Tactical Enforcement Unit
responded to the scene to provide assistance. Police said
a man matching the fugitive's description left the home with
two other people. They drove away. Police tried to make a
traffic stop. Officers said the car, driven by the suspect, didn't
stop and a car chase started.

The chase ended near Columbia St. and Corona St. The suspected fugitive stopped and
ran away.

Officers followed for almost a block. That's when police said the suspect pulled out
a gun. One officer shot the suspected fugitive.

He was taken to Memorial Hospital where he died. His identity was not released Friday
morning.

The officer involved has been placed on routine administrative leave.

The two people traveling with the suspect stayed in the car and were taken into
custody.

The local district attorney's office and the Colorado Springs police major crimes
unit will investigate the shooting.
