Simply not being a Christian seems to do a pretty good job by itself.
Their fear and hatred of people who get along fine without myths speaks

have them look at those 'facts' in a true, honest, and objective manner.
That should *really* ***** them off. Why? Because they'll then realize just
how deceived they have been -- and by the very people they have been brought
up to trust more than anyone in the world -- the clergy.

This isn't all Christians - just the ones that insist
on invading alt.atheism and making fools of
themselves. Keep reminding them that they have
never, ever, not even once converted anyone in
alt.atheism. They've tried for over ten years and
have been total failures. The only thing they have
managed to do is disgust other Christians and
anger atheists and agnostics. Some Christians got
so disgusted, in fact, that they started checking
things out on their own and ended up atheists.
If being such failures that they caused other
Christians to deconvert doesn't ***** off those
suckers, I don't know what else will.

You raise a valid point. In my own case, though, I remember being in an
alcoholic treatment center where I was absolutely *bombarded* with the
religious stuff -- even to the point of *having* to lead meal-time
'prayers'. (I artfully led in 'prayer' without actually saying a 'prayer'.)
I also remember feeling extremely uncomfortable having to lock hands in
'prayer' when playing for several football teams back when dinosaurs roamed
the earth. That stuff was *truly* offensive. How many of those people would
have liked having to hold hands and be 'coerced' into reciting a passage
extolling the virtues of atheism right after 'prayer'? (Equal 'time' and
fairness here.) Hardly a one, I would think.) But you *do* raise a
thoughtful and reasonable question.
