If anyone here can actually tell me what twisted plan God had in mind when
he arranged this and for what purpose, let me know.

Sad, but mostly it's just more Pit Bull "hysteria". These kind of things
usually have a cause other than, "The dog suddenly went crazy". I don't

it's daily beating when, suddenly, for no reason, it turned on me!"
Since dogs can't testify in court, we never get the other side of the
story.

any other kind of dog. I have *never known dogs this affectionate, this
loyal, this obedient.
I don't know what you have to do to a pit to make one vicious but I'll say
this much, I wouldn't turn my back on the humans who manage to do it...

Pit Bulls amd Pit mixes have killed more humans than any other breed. Some
breeds, Collie for example, are not known to have killed a human.
I am sure there are some wonderful Pit pets but there is no doubt that as a
breed they are more likely to attack and kill humans. See stats below.

Male dogs are 6.2 times more likely to bite then female dogs. Sexually
intact dogs,both male and female, are 2.6 more times likely to bite than
neutered dogs and chained dogs are 2.8 times more likely to bite then
unchained dogs.
One suprising conclusion of several studies is the fact that many varieties
of dogs have been involved in a fatal human attack for one reason or
another. Topping the list of deaths by dog in a twenty year period is the
Pit Bull and Pit Bull mix at 66 human deaths. The Rottweiler and Rottweiler
mix was responsibe for 39 human deaths. The German Shepherd dog and mix were
responsible for 17 human deaths. The Husky type dog was responsible for 15
human deaths as was the Malamute responsible for 12 human deaths. The Chow
Chow was responsible for 8 deaths while the Doberman was responsible for 9
human deaths. The Saint Bernard was responsible for 7 human deaths and the
Great Dane was also responsible for 7 deaths. The Akita killed 4 people, the
Bulldog 2, the Mastiff 2, the Boxer 2 and believe it or not the Labrador
Retriever was responsible for 1 death while Lab mixes were responsible for 4
deaths. The following dogs were responsible for killing one human each
during these twenty years: The Bullmastiff, Cheasapeake Bay Retriever, West
Highland Terrier, Japanese Hunting Dog, Newfoundland, Coonhound, Sheepdog,
Rhodesian Ridgeback and Cocker Spaniel.
The conclusion that I make from this study is that almost any dog of size
can be dangerous, particularly to children. Dogs must be properly trained,
supervised, and care must be taken when choosing a breed with the propensity
to be aggressive. Most important, keep young children away from male,
sexually intact, chained dogs."

Ever noticed the "bad breed" changes over time. You don't recall when
Rototillers were the breed that "turned on you?" It was German Shepherds
people said that about when I was a kid. Dobermans had their turn at be
the "bad breed."
Fact is, the dogs are often being "identified" by people who barely know
the difference between a Chihuahua and a St. Bernard. And if some mongrel
they don't know what it is attacks them, they've *heard pit bulls are Bad
Dogs so it must have been a pit.

You'll find--if you look--that the American Pit Bull Terrier *out *scored
the Collie and ranked with the Golden Retriever. So to the extent that
Collies have not been known to have killed anybody, that just damns the
humans *more as it means irresponsible owners are mistreating the pit.
And *that is what's going on here. You never get the dog's side of the
story do you? Only the *human's version...

My dog, and all but one of the other Pits and Pit Mixes I have known
over the last 30 years wouldn't respond to an attack nearly as quickly
as my Lab, or especially my Beagle. My Beagle wouldn't put up with any
nonsense from another dog, regardless of size, and fought once in a
while until minutes before he keeled over dead. My Pit was attacked by
several huge dogs that were over the 125 pound mark, and always tried to
avoid a fight, but if the other dog continued the attack, he would
eventually retaliate, and showed the other dog it had made a huge
mistake.
He never hurt anyone or anything that didn't hurt him first.

Mine wanted to be friends with everyone, until they proved otherwise,
everyone was his friend, with the exception of this one guy. ALL dogs
seem to hate him for some reason. One of my present dogs, the one that
loves everyone, hates that guy, and this kid that he saw walking to
school in the morning.

You got that right.
I just can't imagine. The little (well, 70 pounds as opposed to 90) pit is
one of the most obedient dogs I've never known. And not because he was
trained. Hell, he's a rescue dog. From criminally neglectful owners. That
he could be socialized at all amazed me. But I've never had *any dog that
pays attention to the extent that one does. You know, I'm sure, how much
pits love to chew. And if I give him a chew toy, he goes to town. But he's
never, not once, chewed anything that wasn't given to him. Never had to
teach him that either. He just doesn't.
The big one (all 90 pounds of thinks-he's-a-lap-dog) is a pit mix (or full
pit, nobody knows his history, he's a rescue dog also) loves *everybody.
One pat on the head and you've got a friend for life.
Biggest problem I have with him is he just *has to sleep at the foot of
the bed at night. But he's big and he *sprawls...
