Police Brutality On TV Show COPS |
I was watching COPS tonight on the FOX network, they had two episodes
back to back called Bad Girls. This one girl the cop took her head
and started smashing it against the hood of the cop car and than said
to the lady "Why are you smashing your head against the car?"
My brother used to do this to me when I we were kids. He would hit me
in my head with my own hand and say "Stop hitting yourself, stop
hitting yourself."
Well anyway I just thought it was fucked up what the cop did and it
reminded me of what my brother used to do to me.
Did anyone else see this? This isn't the first time I've noticed a
cop being an ***** on the tv show COPS.

Can we stop fighting, and start living?

It's weird. When I view COPS, I have a completely different experience. I
stand in awe of their inhuman patience that they don't just up and shoot
most of the perps they bag. True the cops aren't geniuses, but they're
Einsteins compared to the droolers they arrest.

That's COPS which isn't real life police officers without cameras on
them making millions doing a TV show.
All cops do where I live is set up speed traps and antagonize people
with long hair. Or they do that lame Tickit or Clickit *****. WTF
does it matter who wears a seatbelt?
Or how about the quota they need to get each month?
It's BS and the system is stupid, like the rest of America.

They save lives.
Years ago, I was applying to be a police officer, and went on a ride
along with an officer. We responded to a single car accident. Driver
traveling at high speed had lost control and slammed into an oak tree.
He was wearing his seat belt, and survived with minor injuries. His
passenger was not wearing his seat belt, and was thrown through the
windshield; landing forty feet away. Pronounced dead on the scene.

I came across similar situations in the year and a half I was a volunteer
EMT. The first crash I ever responded to was a vehicle that had run off
the road and rolled over several times. The first thing I saw when we
rolled up on the scene was a foot sticking out the driver's side window and
all I could think was 'this guy's dead.' Amazingly, he was still
seatbelted in and we couldn't find a thing that was really wrong with him.
No broken bones, no major cuts, no sign of internal bleeding or decrease in
his level of consciousness. Of the all the vehicle accidents I responded
to, the worst injury I encountered on a seatbelted person was a broken
femur. The worst injury to a non-seatbelted person was death.

This is beside the point.
I wear a seatbelt every day, even if I move my car from one parking
space to the next I wear one. But it is my right as a citizen of the
united states under the constitution to decide if I want to wear a
seatbelt or not.
If they really wanted us to wear seatbelts how about make the car so
that it doesn't crank unless the drivers belt is buckled?

I wear my seat belt; I also brush my teeth and exercise every day. I
just don't want the government forcing me to do any of those things.
Mill said it best a long time ago:
"The sole end for which mankind are warranted, individually or
collectively, in interfering with the liberty of action of any of their
number, is self-protection.... His own good, either physical or moral,
is not a sufficient warrant. "

NO *****!!!
But it should be up to the person driving the car if he or she wears a
seatbelt or not. You do know that cars with belts attached to the door
are just as dangerous and not wearing a seatbelt.

The question is "Where's my point?" Obviously you missed it.
I mentioned the process of cleaning the mess made after an unsecured
person flies through the windshield or gets impaled by a steering
wheel.
I did not mention anything else.
I personally believe morons should just learn how to drive.

I was being sarcastic.
However, I would like to suggest elementary physics to you. It opens
eyes. I personally have no issues with not treating a Ranger or two
that chose to kill himself but didn't succeed and now needs a blood
transfusion and a spare liver. I'd rather give it to someone less
idiotic.

Changing the issue, are you? If we fined a person for every choice

dead people cost less than injured people.
If the fatality rate was 100%, that would be a good argument. But it
isn't, so we also have to consider the health care costs on uninsured
people who are injured.

That justifies no end of invasive nanny-state poking around in peoples'
personal lives. Maybe it's okay with you. Not with me.

All cops do where I live is set up speed traps and antagonize people
with long hair. Or they do that lame Tickit or Clickit *****. WTF
does it matter who wears a seatbelt?
They save lives.
NO *****!!!
But it should be up to the person driving the car if he or she wears a
seatbelt or not. You do know that cars with belts attached to the door
are just as dangerous and not wearing a seatbelt.
The problem is that if you get into an accident, aren't wearing your
seatbelt, suffer massive injuries, geuss who ends up paying for your
care?
Uh-oh. I wonder where this is going...
The State. Which means the taxpayers.
All the more reason to get rid of the nanny state. But, gasp, that
would cause people to be RESPONSIBLE, and we cannot have that!
So, since the state builds and
maintains the roads, it can pass laws on the use of those roads.
Don't like them? Take the bus.
Do I sense yet another variation on the Social Contract?

Move to New Hampshire, so mandatory seat belt laws if 18 or over. No
helmet laws either, no income tax or sales tax. State motto: "Live Free
or Die". Easy concealed carry permit availability, very low crime. The
only downside is some property taxes on the local level to pay for
things, but for the most part people leave you alone to live your life.
The Free State Project people chose it for their migration spot too.
