Object: Political hypocrisy of atheists
+The hypocrisy of atheism is legion.Remember when Senator Joey Lieberman was
first introduced as Al Gore's vice presidential candidate? We were told
"He's an Orthodox Jew" and "He's the most moral man in congress."On the
campaign trail, when Lieberman reintroduced God to the political arena, the
atheists,the Communists,and the liberals cheered.
When some of us pointed out that other practicing politicians were also
practicing Christians and that they, too were moral leaders,we were answered
with silence from the left.
Fast forward past election.
Clinton was out, Bush was in.
Oral sex was out, oral prayer was in.
Prayer frightens the lefties. When the newly appointed attorney General John
Ashcroft invited members of his staff to pray in the morning-before work and
on a voluntary basis-they went into high gear. You would have thought that
he was guilty of racism, homophobia, antienvironmentalism, antivegetarianism
and anti-Americanism. All because he practiced his religion.
Were his actions unconstitutional or a return to decency? What we are
witnessing is the spectacle of inquisition being conducted by atheists and
liberal groups.

Please don't reply to this troll. He does not want an actual discussion.
What he does want is to start flame wars. It is highly unlikely that he has
any education beyond high school, let alone a PhD. He will only answer
reasoned refutations of his topics with insults. Attention of any kind only
feeds his ego, especially negative attention. Please ignore him and hope he
goes away.

Uh, can't speak for the communists, but I know for a fact that atheists
and liberals did anything but "cheer" when Lieberman publicly stated
that he opposed separation of church and state. In fact, many of us
viewed it as a deep betrayal by the party that is supposed to be
protecting us from people like that, and probably had more than a little
to do with Gore's loss (or, rather, the narrow margin that allowed Bush
to steal the election from Gore). Lieberman is almost universally
recognized (by the left, at least) as a wolf in Democrat's clothing.
Trudeau said it best: he's an "emergency Republican".
I would tell you to check your facts a little more closely before
posting again, but I know how likely that is to happen.

Check facts? Raytard? Might just as well ask bears to stop crapping in the
woods or the Pope to renounce Catholicism :)

Right... are you aware that before he was ever in the public eye, Bush
Jr. had a drug problem? Most right wingers tend to ignore that fact.
It isn't prayer that we are afraid of it is oppression, the reason that
people cheered for Lieberman wasn't that he was religious it was that he
was moral, and he never pushed his beliefs on anyone. President Bush
however is running on a religious platform which pushes Christian values
and as much as you want to believe that America is a Christian nation,
it is a nation of many cultures that you can't stomp on just because you
think that you hold the power. Christian values aren't everyone's
values, and there are even a lot of Christians out there that don't
believe in a large portion of the bible because it is contradictory.
It's wrong to abort a fetus but it isn't wrong to kill your children if
they defy their parents, that makes a lot of sense morally doesn't it?
