Object: Political Slogans Respun As Atheism
Most politicians and political campaigns have catch phrases for which
they are known. I was thinking that it might be fun/interesting to take
those well known political slogans, preferably from contemporary politics
in the last few decades, and spin them so they advance atheism, rather
than a particular partisan agenda. If you want, of course, you can go
with older stuff, like say hippie mantras from the 60's. Note, of
course, that people of any political persuasion can participate, though I
suspect that rightwingers will have a harder time converting their
propaganda into something usable. But neocon atheists (all two of you)
are invited to take your favorite sayings and convert them into something
that expresses atheism. BTW, I realize that not everyone here is in the
US, but obviously you have popular political slogans in your respective
countries as well. I think it would be interesting to see those as well.
Here are some examples:
"Had Enough (of religion)?"
"It's the theocracy, stupid"
"Atheists feel your pain" (God doesn't give a *****)
"Ask not what God can do for you, cuz he won't do jack *****"
"Ask not what God can do for you. Do it yourself cuz there isn't a god."
"All we are saying, is give atheism a chance".
"Nah, nah, nah, nah/nah, nah, nah, nah/hey, hey-ey, good bye God".
"Don't stop thinkin' for yourself."
"A kinder, gentler godlessness".
"A thousand points of brights"
"In your heart, you know atheists are right"
"Leave no child in church"
"A compassionate contrarian"
"Yes, Atheists can"

Are you better off now than you were 2000 years ago?

I thought of that one. But then I started second guessing it, because it
essentially asks that you retain the present regime, which happens to be
largely theocratic. Regardless of who is in power, we will probably be
better off than 2000 years ago. It's just that most of the reason that
we are better off is due to secular science and enlightenment, rather
than darkage theology.
