Here we go again with another round of "how tragic that the pope's
dying/dead" and then they'll appoint another pope and nothing will have
changed. Everyone will forget the previous guy and start worshipping
the new pope. What a farce! Why don't they appoint a woman for the
new pope instead of the same old boring guys again?
None of this has anything whatsoever to do with this Jesus myth. Not
that there's a shred of evidence outside of the error-prone Bible that
there ever was a Jesus, but this Jesus was a Jew, not a Catholic!
Hello! He practised Judaism, not Christianity. By his own words
(according to myth) he came for the lost sheep of the House of Israel,
not for anyone else.
So what makes Karol Wojtyla a great man? Just being pope doesn't. He
hasn't *done* anything. He *did* finally admit that evolution is a
fact, but big deal. He could hardly have pretended it was any other
way and been completely honest.
But did he, for example, give up everything he had to follow Jesus, as
Jesus insisted his followers do? No! The Vatican is one of the
richest places on the planet (income 2003: $250 million)! I don't see
any of them giving it all to the poor.
Did the pope have faith in the lawd? No! He drove around in a
bullet-proof car for Christ's sake. How could he be the leading
proponent of the faith when he has none himself? How can he pretend
this god will take care of you when he doesn't trust this god to take
care of him?
And when did the mythical Jesus say that we needed a pope? Never! The
idea was supposed to be a direct relationship with this equally
mythical god. Not that you can have such a relationship when this god
hasn't put in an appearance in four thousand years, but then religion
doesn't have to make sense.
And here is the pope, setting himself up as a god, standing squarely in
the way of a direct relationship! Maybe the pope is the antichrist?
