Pope on His Way Out (Yawn) |
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/4403303.stm
Here we go again with another round of "how tragic that the pope's
dying/dead" and then they'll appoint another pope and nothing will have
changed. Everyone will forget the previous guy and start worshipping
the new pope. What a farce! Why don't they appoint a woman for the
new pope instead of the same old boring guys again?
None of this has anything whatsoever to do with this Jesus myth. Not
that there's a shred of evidence outside of the error-prone Bible that
there ever was a Jesus, but this Jesus was a Jew, not a Catholic!
Hello! He practised Judaism, not Christianity. By his own words
(according to myth) he came for the lost sheep of the House of Israel,
not for anyone else.
So what makes Karol Wojtyla a great man? Just being pope doesn't. He
hasn't *done* anything. He *did* finally admit that evolution is a
fact, but big deal. He could hardly have pretended it was any other
way and been completely honest.
But did he, for example, give up everything he had to follow Jesus, as
Jesus insisted his followers do? No! The Vatican is one of the
richest places on the planet (income 2003: $250 million)! I don't see
any of them giving it all to the poor.
Did the pope have faith in the lawd? No! He drove around in a
bullet-proof car for Christ's sake. How could he be the leading
proponent of the faith when he has none himself? How can he pretend
this god will take care of you when he doesn't trust this god to take
care of him?
And when did the mythical Jesus say that we needed a pope? Never! The
idea was supposed to be a direct relationship with this equally
mythical god. Not that you can have such a relationship when this god
hasn't put in an appearance in four thousand years, but then religion
doesn't have to make sense.
And here is the pope, setting himself up as a god, standing squarely in
the way of a direct relationship! Maybe the pope is the antichrist?

Because Jesus didn't appoint women as Apostles.
None of this has anything whatsoever to do with this Jesus myth. Not

Hello! He practised Judaism, not Christianity. By his own words

A Jew is a descendant of Abraham by birth and circumcision. A Catholic is a
descendant of abraham by adoption. That is why the church is called the new
Israel.
So what makes Karol Wojtyla a great man? Just being pope doesn't. He
hasn't *done* anything. He *did* finally admit that evolution is a
fact, but big deal. He could hardly have pretended it was any other

The Pope is the head of the state of the Vatican.Every Bishop around the
world is his diplomat. How do you know what influences those bishops had
with Governments?
But did he, for example, give up everything he had to follow Jesus, as
Jesus insisted his followers do? No!
Yes, Personally the Pope does not have one penny of his own.
The Vatican is one of the
richest places on the planet (income 2003: $250 million)! I don't see
any of them giving it all to the poor.
$250 million comes to 25 cents contribution per Catholic. Do you know of any
other country in the world that can run a country with an income of 250
million?
Did the pope have faith in the lawd? No! He drove around in a
bullet-proof car for Christ's sake. How could he be the leading

There are a lot of Fanatical ant Catholic fundamentalists out there.
And when did the mythical Jesus say that we needed a pope? Never!
Why did Jesus appoint Apostles? Didn't he appoint a shepheard to feed His
sheep?
The
idea was supposed to be a direct relationship with this equally
mythical god. Not that you can have such a relationship when this god

Not for unbelievers.
And here is the pope, setting himself up as a god,
Have you never seen the Pope getting on his knees before his God?
standing squarely in
the way of a direct relationship! Maybe the pope is the antichrist?

Your talk of personal relationships suggest to me that you had been involved
with Calvinists and had left because you could no longer believe in their
brain washing. Learn something about theCatholic church. maybe you will come

No, the early leaders of the R.C.C. followed common social norms and kept
women from positions of power.

There are probably quite a few people who have contracted aids or other
std's because of the popes stance on contraception. Also his inaction on the
ongoing pedo-priest travesty left a lot to be desired. In fact appointing
cardinal law to a posh position in Rome is a slap in the face to those
affected by abuse. He also harbored fugitive Paul Marcinkus. Yeah a great
man indeed.

Why? Because sometime during history (some/many) men became to view women as
less than equals. This view is changing in the western world, but is still
held onto by the R.C.C. Which likes to cling to archaic superstious
nonsense.

It's pretty common in the USA to see a rural community made up
of worn-out houses and rusty trailers, with a beautiful
brand-new church stuck in the middle of it.

$250 million comes to 25 cents contribution per Catholic. Do you know
of any
other country in the world that can run a country with an income of
250
million?
Andorra: population 69,865, revenues $385 million
Monaco: population 32,270, revenues $518 million
San Marino: population 28,503, revenues $400 million
Liechtenstein: population 33,436, revenues $424.2 million
Vatican City: population 880, revenues $250 million
So, a country with a population less than a thousand
has revenues comparable to nearby countries with
populations in the tens of thousands. I don't think
you can plead poverty for the Vatican here - the
Vatican has the highest per-capita income of any
country on the planet by orders of magnitude over the
next nearest competitors.

Because Jesus didn't appoint women as Apostles.
He also didn't appoint Poles.
A Jew is a descendant of Abraham by birth and circumcision. A Catholic is a
descendant of abraham by adoption. That is why the church is called the new
Israel.
How is the the other Israel taking that? It's just to say that
this doesn't even make a shred of sense.
So what makes Karol Wojtyla a great man? Just being pope doesn't. He
hasn't *done* anything. He *did* finally admit that evolution is a
fact, but big deal. He could hardly have pretended it was any other
way and been completely honest.
The Pope is the head of the state of the Vatican.Every Bishop around the
world is his diplomat. How do you know what influences those bishops had
with Governments?
I hope not too much. Religion and government should be strictly
seperated.
But did he, for example, give up everything he had to follow Jesus, as
Jesus insisted his followers do? No!
Yes, Personally the Pope does not have one penny of his own.
So the Pope lives under very poor conditions, of course.
The Vatican is one of thE
richest places on the planet (income 2003: $250 million)! I don't see
any of them giving it all to the poor.
$250 million comes to 25 cents contribution per Catholic. Do you know of any
other country in the world that can run a country with an income of 250

The Vatican is hardly a true country... it's a quarter in another
city. Sort of a religious ghetto.
Did the pope have faith in the lawd? No! He drove around in a
bullet-proof car for Christ's sake. How could he be the leading
proponent of the faith when he has none himself? How can he pretend
this god will take care of you when he doesn't trust this god to take
care of him?
There are a lot of Fanatical ant Catholic fundamentalists out there.
Gosh, one wonder what make them so mad? Was it perhaps that the
Catholic Church is one of the most bloodthirsty organizations on
earth, directly and indirectly responsible for the deaths of millions
of people?
And when did the mythical Jesus say that we needed a pope? Never!
Why did Jesus appoint Apostles? Didn't he appoint a shepheard to feed His
sheep?
The Pope is not mentioned in the Bible. It's a fabrication of the
RCC. I don't buy into the beliefs of the protestants or any other
god-worshipper, but they are right when it comes to that.
The idea was supposed to be a direct relationship with this equally
mythical god. Not that you can have such a relationship when this god
hasn't put in an appearance in four thousand years, but then religion
doesn't have to make sense.
Not for unbelievers.
Which, of course, includes every non-Catholic, right?
And here is the pope, setting himself up as a god,
Have you never seen the Pope getting on his knees before his God?
Yup, worshippng the mammon.
standing squarely in
the way of a direct relationship! Maybe the pope is the antichrist?
Budikka
Your talk of personal relationships suggest to me that you had been involved
with Calvinists and had left because you could no longer believe in their
brain washing. Learn something about theCatholic church. maybe you will come
to see the light.
When there is anything to learn to learn from the Catholic Church,
it is to best avoid it like the plague, just like all other sects
worshipping the Biblical blood-god and its variations.

Odd. First of all, are you asserting that nothing changed with this
Pope? On the contrary, a lot changed. And indeed a lot changed with
previous Popes (John XXIII comes to mind). Second, what's wrong with
people being saddened by the death of a spiritual leader?
Why don't they appoint a woman for the
new pope instead of the same old boring
guys again?
Possibly because Roman Catholicism in its orthodox form is a very
patriarchal religion.
None of this has anything whatsoever to do with this
Jesus myth.
That's funny. We're any of the news reports claiming that the poor
health of the Pope had something to do with the "Jesus myth"? Or can we
conclude that you're simply an angry lad who has trouble staying
focused? Just to help you out, my mother believes in Wicca. When she
was very ill (so much so that she could have died) I was sad, and so
were many of her peers, yet this had nothing to do with the veracity of
the Wiccan faith. Why should it?
Not that there's a shred of evidence outside of the
error-prone Bible that there ever was a Jesus, but
this Jesus was a Jew, not a Catholic!
And this is relevant to the death of the Pope, how? At best, I think
you mean to say that the Pope follows a religion about Jesus rather
than the religion of Jesus. Assuming this is true, how does this mean
that people being concerned with the Pope's health is merely a farce?
So what makes Karol Wojtyla a great man?
That's a matter of perspective. Many are pleased with the role he
played in crippling Communism in Eastern Europe. Others are pleased
with the way he continued Pope John XXIII's attempts to engage in
reconciliation with Jews and Muslims. Others like the fact that he was
an amazing linguist and the most traveled Pope of all time.
He hasn't *done* anything.
He certainly did many things. Whether or not those actions are enough
to consider him "great" is another issue.
He *did* finally admit that evolution is a
fact, but big deal.
Actually, that is a big deal, and it is a good thing when a major
Christian leader comes into line with science.
And when did the mythical Jesus say that we needed
a pope? Never!
Well, if he's merely a myth, then he certainly never objected to the
Pope, right?
religion doesn't have to make sense.
Neither do your angry posts, apparently.
And here is the pope, setting himself up as a god
When did he set himself up as a god?

A great victory against communism. Getting youth behind him. Standing by

Good grief. But when you play with bud, you play with the mentally incompetent.
