Population of Heaven |
I found this paragraph in a book of quotes and opinions about God and
religion I was reading last night, called "GOD:What the Critics Say".
"A British "research organization" (my quote marks) calculated that the
population of Heaven is 5 473 000 000. It reached the heavenly roll call
tally by adding up all the deaths since 40 000 BC - roughly 60 billion -
then figuring out the world's Christian population and doing an estimate
from 8 000 BC."
???
How they came to these figures wasn't mention. Unfortunately neither was
the name of the organization or more details, so using a few phrases from
the paragraph I did some searches, but I wasn't able to find out more about
this funny little religious pseudo scientific mind fart. I did however find
this...might be a new source of some humour.

That's ridiculous. Don't those people know that the only people who go to
heaven are those of us who don't believe it exists?

Weren't any Christians in 8000 BCE. They must have invented a new
classification: Protochristians, those who would have been Christians if
they'd had a chance.
