In just about any moderately sized US city, and many other cities around the
world, you will probably find more than one ophthalmic surgeon. I would
guess that any one of these has saved the sight of more people in one year
than the son of your sky fairy in 10 of his supposed lifetimes.

Tell you what.
I'm a Special Education teacher. My class includes students in the
severe to profound range of mental retardation.
You pray and cure one of them of their disability, and I'll start
listening. Until then, I'll remember the words of an old, crusty, WW2
veteran from the Bible Belt, who, upon hearing what I do for a living,
said to me that although people keep praying for my students, none of
them are ever cured, and concluded that "someone's being lied to"
about the power of prayer.
