Object: Prisoner treatment
"WASHINGTON, Oct. 5 - Defying the White House, the Senate overwhelmingly
agreed Wednesday to regulate the detention, interrogation and treatment of
prisoners held by the American military.
The measure passed, 90 to 9, with 46 Republicans, including Bill Frist, the
majority leader, joining 43 Democrats and one independent in favor.
More than two dozen retired senior military officers, including Colin L.
Powell and John M. Shalikashvili, two former chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of
Staff, endorsed the amendment, which would ban use of "cruel, inhuman or
degrading treatment or punishment" against anyone in government custody."
The White House threatened a veto.
Our born again Christian President supports cruel, inhuman and degrading
treatment of humans.

You're apparently not all that familiar with it. "Cruel, inhuman
or degrading treatment", is quit in line with the Bible. I think you
may need to do a re-read. Or at least scan through the excerpts at
this link.

While the OT is worse in regard to violence and cruelty, Jesus fully
supported the authority of scripture in the OT.
Christ's approach to the Hebrew Scriptures was uniformly an acceptance
of its claim to divine authority

John 5:47: Jesus stated:
"...if ye believe not his(Moses) writings, how shall ye believe my
words?"
In addition, the new testament had quite a few examples of violence
and cruelty as well.

The Senators are thinking ahead, for a change.
Ahead to the next coup d'etat planned by that mad Christian Dictator
Dubya, when those who aren't "accidentally" shot, will be taken
prisoner by the Army.
