Proactive pro: anti religous organisations |
I am interested in joining a proactive anti religous organisation, one
that works against: religious superstition and the collective powers of
fundamentalist religious people. What such organisations are there in
Europe ?

I think I've seen this guy on TV, he debunks tricksters.
Not really what I had in mind, but thanks anyway.

The Center For Inquiry Transnational: www.centerforinquiry.net
In Europe they probably have members from most countries, although so
far they only have offices in Rossdorf, Nice, Bilboa, Warsaw and Moscow.
If you like what you see at their site, you might want to consider
helping them open an office near you.

I don't think that is it, something more like an organisation that
heavily taxes those involved in organised religion and uses this money
to promote more scientific activities, R&D and technologies.

If that's what you're looking for, you are referring to a government,
not an "organization", since those are pretty much the only entities
that can legally levy taxes in most countries in the world.

Really ? It is a very different country to the UK though.
I guess the only problem with that as a political policy is that it
drives out the religious people, which for the most part are not bad,
it is just an extreme minority that cause problems and animosity.

I disagree most wholeheartedly.
Even the most proximally benign are specific enablers and financiers
of the malignant theists.
They are accessories before and after the fact.
And that ignores their eager parasitising off atheists' taxes, taken
quite involuntarily.
it is just an extreme minority that cause problems and animosity.
If they were not enable ny the majority, they would be treated just as
solitary kooks are today: locked up in asylums.

The bottom line is that anything that is pushed about a God is deeply
offensive to all that are truely rational, because it is an assertion
of something unsubstantiated, so it is an afront to humanity.

The Roman Catholic Church is one of the best arguments against
religious belief and religious power ... but I don't think that's what
you meant. :)
If nothing else rears its head, start your own organization.
