Object: Programs and books to promote good relations between Islam and non-Muslims.
Have any of you seen some of the books and programs trying to clean up
Islam's image? I was recently sent a PDF file of a book called "The
Truth about Religion" that the author wanted me to read so that I
could give it a review. The book seemed to be the same very typically
scary Islamic literature that claims the religion promotes respect and
tolerance why saying things like:
Here is an example of the section entitled "Atheism - Solution or
Destruction":
"Towards the end of the 19th century, atheists formulated a world
view that they thought explained everything; they denied that the
universe was created saying that it had no beginning but had
existed forever. They claimed that the universe had no purpose but
that its order and balance were the result of chance; they believed
that the question of how human beings and other living things
came into being was answered by Darwinism. They believed that
Marx or Durkheim had explained history and sociology, and that
Freud had explained psychology on the basis of atheist
assumptions.
However, these views were later invalidated in the 20th century by
scientific, political and social developments. Many and various
discoveries in the fields of astronomy, biology, psychology and
social sciences have nullified the bases of all atheist
suppositions."(pg 9)
"Communism may be considered the most important political
result of 19th century atheism. The founders of this ideology, Marx,
Engels, Lenin, Trotsky or Mao, all adopted atheism as a basic
principle." (pg 10)
What made the book scary to me was the way that it slammed non-Judaic
groups of people while claiming that Islam is a religion of peace,
respect and tolerance; the scary part is that the author seemed to be
sincerely trying to promote good will to non-Muslims including atheists
by making these claims! It makes me wonder, if this guy is a tolerant
Muslim, what are the intolerant one like?

Islam was a religion set up to justify war
(and Muhammed's massive ego) from
the outset. It will never be a religion
of peace, no matter how much propaganda
the Saudis pay for, or their dupes in
places like Hollywood pump out.

Sighhhhh. Excluding oil, the GDP of Islamic nations is equal to that
of Spain. The Russians meanwhile did depite being a nation of drunks
run by communist idiots did manage to have a successful space program,
successful science program that has created numerous Nobel prize
winners and is still one of the few nations that can build advanced
aircraft.
Despite collapse of their communist system a decade ago, they
are digging out, have lowered total debt to 28% of GDP and dropping,
have a growth rate of about 7% and are at #15 in GDP ranking despite
the utter collapse of that nation. Russia has 148 million people.
Pakistan with 120 million people has a ranking of 45th.
If a nation of drunken commies can have a successful space program,
in a decade, they are going to be dug out of their total collapse
and moving on.
Islamic nations will still be faced with high illiteracy and
general backwardsness. I note India and China are both doing
well China's GDP is 6th, India's 10th.
Indonesia ranks 22nd, the highest ranking Islamic nation not
reliant on oil.
All that religion is not doing them that much good.

Meanwhile the USA's federal debt is at 65% of GDP.
If you include state debt then it's substantially higher.

It's scary. I suppose the US government could renege on its debt; but the
consequences are too terrible to imagine.

Depends on who owns the debt. China has $300 billion of it,
which is not much considering the federal debt is $8000 billion.
But it's clear that our "elected" leaders (the vote was rigged)
are leading us down a path that helps the rich and puts
the rest of us in serious peril.
