making a commitment, not our resolve or efforts,
but it is the righteousness of Jesus Christ
considered by God to be ours when we place
all our trust on Christ and none on us for salvation.
Those who reject the gospel of the Reformation
are returning to the counterfeit of this world.

risen LORD.

Wrong. Many advances in human knowledge have come from atheists.

If there is a God, wouldn't he more likely respect people who used their
God-given brains and had honest skepticism based on lack of evidence,

the bad acts performed in his name?
Logically, he would seek to punish those
who professed belief in him for selfish reasons of seeking better treatment
in an afterlife and ranting away condemning others -- perhaps he will even
make them the slaves of the more honest and worthy atheist
skeptics.
The Bible is full of various types of tests -- as a ranting Jesus monkey,
the afterlife you can look forward through is probably at the end of a leash
held by an atheist.

It is right for this magnitude 6 earthquake to be assigned to Tokyo
and no other city.
Or no city at all, since it was over 250 miles out to sea. Maybe there
was a cruise ship in the area we could assign it to.
The reports I saw put the epicenter closer to 500 miles out.
It is likely you confused km with mi.
But even with your figure, calling it "a Tokyo earthquake"
is like calling a quake in eastern Illinois "an Ohio earthquake".
Did not call it a Tokyo earthquake but simply a great earthquake with
a lot of released kinetic energy to generated magnitude 6 shockwaves
more than 200 miles below the surface. If it were just a couple miles
below the seabed, it would have generated magnitude 9 shockwaves which
would have devastated Tokyo.
In any event, Japan gets around 20% of the earthquakes of
magnitude 6. That's one every two weeks, on average.
Big deal.
Earthquakes that are magnitude 6 more than 200 miles below the surface
are rare anywhere in the world.

get "closer to 500 miles"
