Hey America, Remember 9/11 Happened on George W. Bush's Watch
As of today, I will no longer will stand with George W. Bush and I will no longer
stand in solidarity just so the mean spirited, hate filled, members of the Republicans
Party can kick me in the *****. This "wrap yourself in a flag" masquerade must stop and
America must be reminded that 9/11 happened on George W. Bush's watch. If George W. Bush
was a true leader as many claim he is, he would have stopped the attacks of 9/11 instead
of using them to bolster himself as a leader.

(PRWEB) September 6, 2004 -- Someone had to say it. 3000 Americans died on September
11, 2001, and after that day our country stood shoulder to shoulder with the Bush
Administration in solidarity, in a show of force, and a show of absolute undeniable
patriotism. But now the hate fest called the Republican Party Convention decided to fill
their speeches with references to 9/11, exploiting the lives of the thousands who died,
dishonored those in uniform, and crossing the line of common decency.

As of today, I will no longer will stand with George W. Bush and I will no longer
stand in solidarity just so the mean spirited, hate filled, members of the Republicans
Party can kick me in the *****. This "wrap yourself in a flag" masquerade must stop and
America must be reminded that 9/11 happened on George W. Bush's watch. If George W. Bush
was a true leader as many claim he is, he would have stopped the attacks of 9/11 instead
of using them to bolster himself as a leader.

Where was George W. Bush just prior to the attacks by Bin Laden? Not only was he on
vacation; he was on a month long vacation. It is bad enough that he can afford to take a
vacation unlike many working class people, but a month long vacation just days before the
worst intelligence failure of the United States since Pearl Harbor is inexcusable.

During his "working" vacation he was briefed on possible attacks by Al Qeada,
possibly using airplanes as their weapons. His National Security Advisor, Condoleeza Rice
during the 9/11 Commission hearings could only muster up the excuse of their failure to
act upon this data, that the intelligence data was vague and did not provide the time, the
place, or the method. Given the amount of evidence and the information provided by the
previous Administration, all Bush and Rice could have been waiting for was a formal
invitation to a terrorist attack, complete with a return envelope, party bag, and RSVP.

So just days before the attack, the Commander and Chief, our leader, George W. Bush
did nothing but chop wood. And for this, over 3000 Americans lost their lives and our
country was changed forever for the worst. And yet, George W. Bush is considered a strong
leader.

A leader would have put aside partisan bickering and consulted with the previous
administration in order to protect America's boundaries. A leader would have taken a short
3-5 day vacation and would have stopped the vacation after learning of a possible attack
by a terrorist organization. Instead George W. Bush chopped wood and worried about losing
more members of the once controlled Republican Senate. He worried about drilling in Anwar,
releasing contracts for a nuclear missile shield that would have never detected an attack
by airplanes, providing more tax cuts, and negotiating with the Taliban for a gas pipeline
through Afghanistan.

Being a leader, especially after such a horrible attack, is not hard to do. Look at
Rudy Guiliani. He walked around ground zero with a mask over his face leading a group of
his staff and was proclaimed Man of the Year by Time Magazine. He did nothing different
than any other Mayor would have done after an attack whether in New York City, New York or
Blanco Texas. And yet for this he was honored.

George W. Bush was no different. Any President, except a Democrat, would have been
praised, as a strong leader for assembling a worldwide collation to find and take
justified revenge on those who perpetrated the evil of 9/11, but George W. Bush didn't.
Instead he distracted the attention of the American public on a war in Iraq against a
country that had absolutely nothing to do with the attacks on America, costly American
taxpayers $150 Billion, and most importantly, the lives of almost 1000 American soldiers
and over 6000 injuries.

And now during the hate fest of the Republican Convention the delegates, mocking
American Veterans wearing Purple Heart Band Aids, have declared George W. Bush the leader
of men, of America, of the World.

So I will no longer stand united with America with a so called "leader' such as
George W. Bush. I am embarrassed to have him as our President who has put our military in
harms way for no good reason, has forgotten about Osama Bin Laden resulting in widely
distributing his organization across the world, has alienated our long term allies, and
has united our enemies against us.

Today, just a few days after the Republican convention, I have never been more proud
to support John Kerry for President and will do whatever it takes, within the law to
defeat George W. Bush in Nov.
