In time, they rue what they unleashed. But it seemed so promising at
the beginning.
Perhaps it is a form of divine retribution that the Catholic and
Protestants, in their zeal to promote Christianity via their 1933
avatar Adolf Hitler, that they set in motion a series of events that
in time make Germany a largely non-religious soceity today.
