Psalm 103: 1-4, 9-12. 6-16-2007. |
Praise Of Divine Goodness.
Of David.
Bless the Lord, my soul;
all my being, bless his holy name!
Bless the Lord, my soul;
do not forget all the gifts of God,
Who pardons all your sins,
heals all your ills,
Delivers your life from the pit,
surrounds you with love and compassion.
God does not always rebuke,
nurses no lasting anger,
Has not dealt with us as our sins merit,
nor requited us as our deeds deserve.
As the heavens tower over the earth,
so God's love towers over the faithful.
As far as the east is from the west,
so far have our sins been removed from us.

But don't blame yourself too much, Dave. The padre didn't know
any better either.
all my being, bless his holy name!
Yup. I'm sure that YHWH will appreciate a blessing from a flagrant
sinner like you.
Bless the Lord, my soul;
See above.

Who pardons all your sins,

Delivers your life from the pit,

YHWH sends his best:
But thou hast cast off and abhorred, thou hast been wroth with
thine anointed.
Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant: thou hast
profaned his crown by casting it to the ground.
Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strong
holds to ruin.
All that pass by the way spoil him: he is a reproach to his
neighbours.
Thou hast set up the right hand of his adversaries; thou hast made
all his enemies to rejoice.
Thou hast also turned the edge of his sword, and hast not made him
to stand in the battle.
Thou hast made his glory to cease, and cast his throne down to the
ground.
The days of his youth hast thou shortened: thou hast covered him
with shame. Selah.
-- Psalm 89:38-45
God does not always rebuke,
nurses no lasting anger,
And the Lord's anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them
wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation,
that had done evil in the sight of the Lord, was consumed.
-- Numbers 32:13
(For the Lord thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger
of the Lord thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from
off the face of the earth.
-- Deuteronomy 6:15
Has not dealt with us as our sins merit,
Indeed. He hands out infinite punishment for finite crimes.
nor requited us as our deeds deserve.
And yet you worship this slave driver.
....
Also read:
Luke 2: 41-51.
2 Corinthians 5: 14-21.
Couldn't be bothered.

I also like Ps. 146:3 where you are told not to put your faith in the
son of man who can not be trusted. Nice thing to say about Jesus ah.

No need to remove my shoes. This is not holy ground, but I reply with
indignation at this ignorance.
Cain was a son of man. Judas was a son of man. Today almost half of
the earth's population are sons of man and the rest are daughters of
man.
There was and is and will only be One Son of Man. Being the Christ, He
is the only One who can be trusted...
cease ye from man whose breath is in his nostrils...
