Psalm 2: 1-9. 4-16-2007. |
A Psalm For A Royal Coronation.
Why do the nations protest
and the peoples grumble in vain?
Kings on earth rise up
and princes plot together
against the Lord and his
anointed:
"Let us break their shackles
and cast off their chains!"
The one enthroned in heaven laughs;
the Lord derides them,
Then speaks to them in anger,
terrifies them in wrath:
"I myself have installed my king
on Zion, my holy mountain."
I will proclaim the decree of
the Lord,
who said to me, "You are my son;
today I am your father.
Only ask it of me,
and I will make your inheritance
the nations,
your possession the ends of the
earth.
With an iron rod you shall shepherd
them,
like a clay pot you will shatter
them."
----------
Also read:
John 3: 1-8.
Acts 4: 23-31.

The Israelis have been waiting some 2500 years for this prophecy
to be fulfilled. So how long do you figure, padre?
Also read:
John 3: 1-8.
Acts 4: 23-31.
Couldn't be bothered.

A Psalm For A Royal Coronation
Yup. Coronation is definitely the right word here. It
acknowledges that YHWH's "reign" had a beginning, and did not
extend to the eternal past.

Habakkuk 1:2-4 4-16-2007
O Lord, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! even cry out
unto thee of violence, and thou wilt not save!
Why dost thou shew me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance?
for spoiling and violence are before me: and there are that raise
up strife and contention.
Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth:
for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong
judgment proceedeth.
