Object: Psalm 31: 20-24. 1-29-2007.
Prayer In Distress And Thanksgiving For Escape.
How great is your goodness, Lord,
stored up for those who fear you.
You display it for those who trust you,
in the sight of all the people.
You hide them in the shelter of your presence,
safe from scheming enemies.
You keep them in your abode,
safe from plotting tongues.
Blessed be the Lord,
who has shown me wondrous love,
and been for me a city most secure.
Once I said in my anguish,
"I am shut out from your sight."
Yet you heard my plea,
when I cried out to you.
Love the Lord, all you faithful.
The Lord protects the loyal,
but repays the arrogant in full.

Hmmmmmmm, ........ that's not a bad idea, padre. A prayer you
can use when you are in trouble as well as out of trouble.
Efficiency in praying. Sorta fits in with your Three Gods For
The Price Of One.
Perhaps you could extend the idea further. You could have a
prayer to keep you out of trouble, get you out of trouble, and
a thanks very much for your trouble. One size fits all.
Watcha think, padre?
Regards,
Josef

Prayer In Distress And Thanksgiving For Escape.

The Wisdom of Charlie Chan

How great is your goodness, Lord,
stored up for those who fear you.

Good detective always look for something unusual.

You display it for those who trust you,
in the sight of all the people.

Trust must be shared.

You hide them in the shelter of your presence,
safe from scheming enemies.

Sometimes very small cloud hide sun.

You keep them in your abode,
safe from plotting tongues.

When pilot unreliable, ship cannot keep true course.

Blessed be the Lord,
who has shown me wondrous love,
and been for me a city most secure.

Contents of safe are only secure so long as someone outside
watching safe.

Once I said in my anguish,
"I am shut out from your sight."
Yet you heard my plea,
when I cried out to you.

Humble presence of no more importance than one drop of rain in
cloudburst.

Love the Lord, all you faithful.
The Lord protects the loyal,
but repays the arrogant in full.

Even detective sometimes fall in love...quite often with
suspect in murder case.

Josef

Psalm 31: 20-24. 1-29-2007.

Joel 1:9-15 1-29-2007

How great is your goodness, Lord,
stored up for those who fear you.

The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from the
house of the Lord; the priests, the Lord's ministers, mourn.

You display it for those who trust you,
in the sight of all the people.

The field is wasted, the land mourneth; for the corn is
wasted: the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth.

You hide them in the shelter of your presence,
safe from scheming enemies.

Be ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye vinedressers, for
the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the field
is perished.

You keep them in your abode,
safe from plotting tongues.

The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the
pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even
all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is
withered away from the sons of men.

Blessed be the Lord,
who has shown me wondrous love,
and been for me a city most secure.

Gird yourselves, and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of
the altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of
my God: for the meat offering and the drink offering is
withholden from the house of your God.

Once I said in my anguish,
"I am shut out from your sight."
Yet you heard my plea,
when I cried out to you.

Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders
and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the Lord
your God, and cry unto the Lord,

Love the Lord, all you faithful.
The Lord protects the loyal,
but repays the arrogant in full.

Alas for the day! for the day of the Lord is at hand, and as a
destruction from the Almighty shall it come.

2Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the
knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what
ought not to be done. 29They have become filled with every kind of
wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder,
strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30slanderers, God-haters,
insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they
disobey their parents; 31they are senseless, faithless, heartless,
ruthless. 32Although they know God's righteous decree that those who
do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very
things but also approve of those who practice them.

The bible is prejudiced. How one can pass judgement on someone they
don't even know is beyond me. Now don't get started with this "all-
knowing" god *****. If the god was all-knowing, he wouldn't have had
to hunt for Adam and Eve when they were hiding from him.
