Psalm 37: 3-4, 18-19, 27-28, 39-40. 2-20-2007. |
The Fate Of Sinners And The Reward Of The Just.
Trust in the Lord and do good that you may dwell in the land and live
secure.
Find your delight in the Lord who will give you your heart's desire.
The Lord watches over the days of the blameless; their heritage lasts
forever.
They will not be disgraced when times are hard; in days of famine they
will have plenty.
Turn from evil and do good, that you may inhabit the land forever.
For the Lord loves justice and does not abandon the faithful.
The salvation of the just is from the Lord, their refuge in time of
distress.
The Lord helps and rescues them, rescues and saves them from the
wicked, because in God they take refuge.

My eldest daughter (now 22) cried in bed when she was 2. We couldn't
figure out what was going on. Night after night she cried. Like she was
having the same nightmare over and over again.
Once night (a full moon), we went in to calm her down without turning on
the light. While my wife comforted her, I looked around the room and saw
the sinister appeal of the Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck "glow in the
dark" paintings we had bought for her a few months prior.
In the daytime, they are just friendly cartoon characters. At night they
are incarnations of everything every child fears. I wish we had kept
them, but we were renting a 2-bed apartment, and storage space was at a
minimum.
