Psalm 46: 2-3, 5-6, 8-9. 3-20-2007. |
God, The Protector Of Zion.
God is our refuge and our strength,
an ever-present help in distress.
Thus we do not fear, though earth be shaken
and mountains quake to the depths of the sea,
Streams of the river gladden the city of God,
the holy dwelling of the Most High.
God is in its midst;
it shall not be shaken;
God will help it at break of day.
The Lord of hosts is with us;
our stronghold is the God of Jacob.
Come and see the works of the Lord,
who has done fearsome deeds on earth.

Another excellent exercise in cherry picking.
The Bible vs The Padre 3-20-2007
Thus we do not fear, though earth be shaken
and mountains quake to the depths of the sea,
And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves
of the earth, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his
majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
-- Isaiah 2:19
And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of
the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the
midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from
on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.
-- Isaiah 24:18
God is in its midst;
it shall not be shaken;
The Lord also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from
Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the Lord
will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children
of Israel.
-- Joel 3:16
The Lord of hosts is with us;
our stronghold is the God of Jacob.
But Zion said, The Lord hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath
forgotten me.
-- Isaiah 49:14
