Psalm 57: 8-10, 12. 5-11-2007. |
Confident Prayer For Deliverance.
My heart is steadfast, God,
my heart is steadfast.
I will sing and chant praise.
Awake, my soul;
awake, lyre and harp!
I will wake the dawn.
I will praise you among the peoples,
Lord;
I will chant your praise among the
nations.
Show yourself over the heavens,
God;
may your glory appear above all
the earth.

< chuckle! >
Here we have Dave hiding in a cave, afraid of Saul. And asking
YHWH for "deliverance". Telling YHWH how "steadfast" his heart is.
LOL !!

discover: it is kept alive by hope and fear, by childish faith,
and by cowardice.

Psalm 57: 8-10, 12. 5-11-2007
Psalm 69:1-8 5-11-2007
Confident Prayer For Deliverance.
A Lament To An Indifferent Deity
Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul.
I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into
deep waters, where the floods overflow me.
I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while
I wait for my God.
They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine
head: they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully,
are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away.
O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from
thee.
Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord God of hosts, be ashamed
for my sake: let not those that seek thee be confounded for my
sake, O God of Israel.
Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my
face.
I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my
mother's children.

Reply:
Dear Concerned Student:
I am not allowed in schools.
Sincerely,
God
----------------------------------------------------------
How did this get started?...
-----------------
Let's see,
I think it started when Madeline Murray O'Hare complained, she didn't want
any prayer in our schools.
And we said, OK...
------------------
Then,
Someone said you better not read the Bible in school,
The Bible that says "Thou shalt! Not kill, Thou shalt not steal, and love
your neighbors as yourself,"
And we said, OK...
-----------------
Dr. Benjamin Spock said
We shouldn't spank our children when they misbehaved
because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their
self-esteem.
And we said, An expert should know what he's talking about.
So we won't spank them anymore...
------------------
Then someone said
Teachers and principals better not discipline our children when they
misbehave.
And the school administrators said no faculty member in this school
better touch a student when they misbehave because we don't want any bad
publicity, and we surely don't want to be sued.
And we accepted their reasoning......
------------------
And the entertainment industry said, let's make TV shows and movies that
promote profanity, violence and illicit sex...
And let's record music that encourages rape, drugs, murder, suicide, and
satanic themes...
And we said, it's just entertainment and it has no adverse effect and nobody
takes it seriously anyway,
So go right ahead.
------------------
Now we're asking ourselves
Why our children have no conscience,
Why they don't know right from wrong,
And why it doesn't bother them to
Kill strangers, classmates or even themselves.
------------------
Undoubtedly,
If we thought about it long and hard enough,
We could figure it out.
I'm sure it has a great deal to do with...
"WE REAP WHAT WE SOW,"
Pass it on
If you think it has merit! But if you discard this thought process,
Then don't sit back and complain about
what bad shape this country is in!
