occasions that Iraq's Saddam Hussein planned "terrorist attacks" on its
soil, President Vladimir Putin said Friday.
"After the events of September 11, 2001, and before the start of the
military operation in Iraq, Russian special services several times received
such information and passed it on to their American colleagues," he told

When it comes to Iraq/Al-Qaida ties that even the CIA and Pentagon

Interesting. Bush gets his butt kicked this week by the 9/11
Commission's finding that Saddam had no ties to al-Quaeda

And you suck that lie-by-omission even after it's been dealt with.

There was no meaningful contact. Osama wanted help from Saddam and

Only in *specific* terms of the 9/11 attack.

Otherwise you have to ignore the evidence that they had a long-term
cooperation on weapons development and training in bomb and poison
making - which was emphasised yet again in public on the
talking-heads Sunday programs.

Not to mention that "names that might be similar" isn't quite the "we know

Contra the yipping coming from the neo-con camp, it's just NOT enough that
they have "kinda sorta maybe things that could be possible" when they sold

ASTANA, Kazakhstan (Reuters) - Russia warned the United

Interesting. Bush gets his butt kicked this week by the 9/11
Commission's finding that Saddam had no ties to al-Quaeda

And you suck that lie-by-omission even after it's been dealt

There was no meaningful contact. Osama wanted help from Saddam

and

Saddam said no. That seems to be the extent of it.

Only in *specific* terms of the 9/11 attack.

Otherwise you have to ignore the evidence that they had a long-

term

cooperation on weapons development and training in bomb and

poison

making - which was emphasised yet again in public on the

But even the Standard article expresses doubts. Until the question of
identity is cleared up, I don't see how the administration can use this as
evidence of a link.

Not to mention that "names that might be similar" isn't quite the "we know
for sure" that was being sold to us to get us into a war.

Contra the yipping coming from the neo-con camp, it's just NOT enough that
they have "kinda sorta maybe things that could be possible" when they sold
us a ***** WAR.

They should be able to put the evidence on the table and have everybody
say "I'll be damned." Not whine "well the names are sorta kinda the same!"

BushCo's case for war is in tatters. All that they have left is to
throw as many baseless unsupported accusations, allegations, and
inferences up against the wall as possible in hopes that one of them
will stick.

weapons factory tomorrow in Iraq you'd claim they planted it.

If it were found and its contents verified by photograph, analysis by
experts, and verified by independent disinterested neutral sources, of
course I would believe it.

No, you'd claim that the photos were faked, the experts were liars and
the sources were neither independent nor disinterested. You've already
done that in the past.

Interesting. Bush gets his butt kicked this week by the 9/11
Commission's finding that Saddam had no ties to al-Quaeda and this bit
of information suddenly appears. If Dubya knew this before the war, why
wasn't it presented in his arguments to invade Iraq? If backed by
evidence, it would have made a persuasive argument for a preemptive
strike. I wonder why the silence.

I agree, if he had put this information before the public before the
war I may have been more supportive of invading Iraq and ousting
Hussein. This of course, doesn't put the lying scumbag in any better
light. He lied to us about WMD, and he lies about how he feels that
there should be a seperation of church and state when he panders to
the religous reich, and attempts to initiate his "Faith Based"
programs.
