+Beacuse Krishna has no basis in reality, much like your thought pattern+

You mean: exactly like your gods?

+Maybe if you put Bulls on Parade on pause and quit scratching your gooch
with a carrot pealer, you could put together a coherent sentence. Because I
didnt reply to that hogwash creole jambouree down syndrome written post on
the other thread doesnt mean you owned me. In fact you havent even flamed me
once, just trying to avoid my seering arrows of ownage with your wood shield
of transparency. +

Can anyone translate this in coherent English? As non native English
speaker this is a wee bit beyond me. :-(

Let's see, both are mythology and have no objective basis in fact.
And you buy into it.
Guess we all know who the fool is.

I'm with Samuel Huntington and Vernor Vinge in this respect, and
utterly opposed to Leo Strauss.
Strauss believed, as was so clearly articulated by Irving
Kristol, that "There are different kinds of truths for different kinds
of people. There are truths appropriate for children; truths that are
appropriate for students; truths that are appropriate for educated
adults; and truths that are appropriate for highly educated adults, and
the notion that there should be one set of truths available to everyone
is a modern democratic fallacy."
You are firmly in the camp that believes that "the
popularization of modern philosophical conclusions might import unease,
turmoil and the release of popular passions hitherto held in check by
tradition and religion with utterly unpredictable, but mostly negative,
consequences." (Both quotes from Irving Kristol's radio essay, "The
Influence of Leo Strauss.")

Yes China with 1.3 billion people and only about 10% with any religious
beliefs is overttaking the world in growth in GDP. They will be the world
leaders in less than 20 years.
In the news America religion became expendable once decent law structure was
put in place

+Let's just say you don't see sufficient evidence for god's existence.
But, if a person asked you what kind of things you'd accept, within reason,
as evidence for God, what would you say? If you have nothing to offer, then
you haven't thought your position through... and if you haven't done that,
then can you honestly lay claim to the title 'atheist'?

There can be no doubt, if God exists, that He knows what
constitutes "sufficient evidence" for the individual to conclude that He
exists. That he has done so for some (you, for example), and not for
others (me, for example) is contradictory to the notion of universal
love and mercy that is supposedly one of his qualities.

+Let's just say you don't see sufficient evidence for god's existence.

Better yet, let's just say I don't see any.

But, if a person asked you what kind of things you'd accept, within reason,
as evidence for God, what would you say?

Objective, verifiable, extra-biblical evidence.
If you have nothing to offer, then

you haven't thought your position through... and if you haven't done that,
then can you honestly lay claim to the title 'atheist'?

See above - I can call myself anything I want, thank you very much, and don't
need your permission to do so.
Get over yourself. You're not that important.

Oh gosh...here we go again...

Why do you have such a problem that we don't believe in your god when
you've discarded belief in the god(s) of all other religions?

Yes, we spend a lot of time reading things we don't believe in. It's

called

FICTION, you stupid *****!

'Sides, what am I reading I don't believe? I believe there are people. And

Skippy, first of all, go look up "kill file." As in, you're in mine okay?
I only see your tripe if somebody bothers to reply.
But this one, I couldn't let pass. Here's the deal:
This "god" is allegedly omniscient and omnipotent right? Knows all, sees
all, can do all.
I do NOT have to specify "what kind of things" I would accept as evidence.
Your "god," if it existed, would already know. Better, by the way, than
*I* would (better, also, than you or any other proselytizing twerp).
And being all powerful and not limited by time, this "god" could convince
anyone at any time. Better than you could.
By the way, don't even try the "free will" nonsense. If "god" convincing
someone of his existence is a destruction of "free will," then *anyone
(including you) convincing someone "god" exists is *also destruction of
"free will."

It's why so many of them get treated like the stupid idiots they show
themselves to be.
They miss the remarkably simple point that no matter how "real" it is
to them, it is merely somebody else's religious belief to us.
No different than eg Allah, Zeus, Krishna etc are to them.
Which is hardly rocket science.
Yet they still talk at us as though it were universally granted.

Or Osiris, or Mithras, or even Santa Claus.
Sheesh.
Sometimes I wonder how these morons can even operate a computer.
