else, tell us about your god-thingy, have any truth to them at all. Not

notions of this god-thingy. If nothing else, the Christian notion is a
joke in the face of actual knowledge about the world; the Christian god
is incoherent in the face of a majority of humanity that does not
believe.

Why the f*****g hell should he believe in a god because someone else tells him
to? This is the crux of the whole problem; dad tells child about his god, 'cos
his dad told him and his dad told him and so on until we get back to the dark
ages which was full of simple people who did not even know why it thundered and
why light flashed in the sky.
"The gods are angry". Yes well we know differently now don't we. My grandad
was convinced that heaven was 'just above the clouds' and that hell was 'down
thar'. This argument was used by medeival rulers to scare the pants off the
population in collusion with the priests to keep everyone in line, in the
absence of any decent laws. Religion is all about *power* and imaginary evils.
The painful truth is that religion is simple mythology

Nobody ever has any burden to prove any existential statement like, "An
invisible god might exist, even though there is no such thing in
evidence" is false, Marc. Under the principles of valid argument (logic)
the only reasonable default presumption is that existential statements
like that are false unless proven true, just like the default
presumption of not guilty in any reasonable criminal court. OK with you?
The thing of it is that if you want to be part of the human community
then you have to be willng to abide by these basic principles of valid
argument (logic) since the opposite wold be an absurd state of affairs.
