Question For Creationists |
Regardless of whether a god did this or that, what do YOU think the logical
result of the following is, over, say, a million generations:
Imagine any organism, maybe simple, maybe complex, in an Earth environment.
1. Offspring are seldom completely indenticle to their parents
2. More offspring are born than will ever survive, mainly because of
changing environmental pressures, predators, etc.
3. Population is too plentiful for total extinction, short of wordwide
catastrophe.
4. The DNA has no "tidying up" or "memory" function of what went before.
Think carefully about your answer, bearing in mind that this has been
thoroughly researched and explored from many angles for many decades, both
passively and actively, on a variety of scales and in a variety of contexts,
as the cornerstone of most biological science.
Hint: Point 2 forbids anything intrinsically "cyclic". If you can't answer
the question, many computer simulations working only on those principles do.
If your answer is not:
"Well adapted, elaborate if necessary, survival machines, such as today's
animals and plants"
....then you have single-handedly dismantled the credability of the
scientific method, should you successfully explain your answer. No matter
what you think about anything, to shoot down evolution you first must deny
that these principles often apply to populations.

That's your first mistake, the use of the word "logical". As long as it opposes
"godidit" it will not be considered worthy.

And the next mistake is asking them to account for over a million
generations. According to the bibble that number would only be in the
hundreds.
