Object: Question for the experts:
Is there any chance that Adam Gadahn -- "The
American Taliban" guy -- will ever face charges
of treason?
It seems to me that it would be opening up a
HUGE can of worms, where GOP operatives
like Robert Novak (and his pals in the
administration) could face the death penalty.
I mean, if being the Islamic answer to Tokyo
Rose warrants a death sentence, then certainly
exposing deep undercover CIA efforts to track
WMDs would have to be considered "aid and
comfort to the enemy."
It would have been during WWII. No question.
Seriously. If this really is "War" then outing
deep undercover operatives with a role in
keeping WMDs out of the hands of rogue states
and terrorists can only end in a hanging.
It seems far more likely that someone like the
"American Taliban guy" is destined to be picked
from some rubble, after a cruise missile strike,
rather ever face trial. The alternative is too risky.
I mean, even if it's by accident, eventually someone
with ethics is going to have the power to prosecute.
What were they thinking is the satute of limitations
on treason?
Please.

Whatever the truth is, it's highly unlikely that these fucks will ever
face prosecution.

I mean, if being the Islamic answer to Tokyo
Rose warrants a death sentence, then certainly
exposing deep undercover CIA efforts to track
WMDs would have to be considered "aid and
comfort to the enemy."

Iva Toguri D'Aquino was innocent. The witnesses against her lied
under oath. Gadahn is on video, and there appears to be evidence that
he went out of his way to join the wackjobs over there. I don't think
it's an appropriate comparison.

It would have been during WWII. No question.

Seriously. If this really is "War" then outing

I think you're getting a bit past reason, here....it looks like you're
trying to stir up a lynch mob.

It seems far more likely that someone like the
"American Taliban guy" is destined to be picked
from some rubble, after a cruise missile strike,
rather ever face trial. The alternative is too risky.

You're crazy. So, we'll just try him in absentia in a kangaroo court?
Then do our best to kill him and anyone who happens to be near him in
a cowardly manner?

I mean, even if it's by accident, eventually someone
with ethics is going to have the power to prosecute.

??? Someone with ethics will accidentally have the power to
prosecute?

What were they thinking is the satute of limitations
on treason?

Who are "they"? Why did you even bring this up? Whatever.

No. I clearly said "picked from some rubble, after a cruise
missile strike."
Trust me on this: The military doesn't stage a trial before
launching missiles & dropping bombs.

Then do our best to kill him and anyone who happens
to be near him in a cowardly manner?

I wouldn't tell the men serving over there that they're
cowards, if I were you.

None whatsoever. Don't be ridiculous.

No. The puppet-masters don't worry about what their own people do. They only
worry about what the puppets do.

But this isn't WWII, is it? In WWII you could tell *which side was worse*.

But this isn't 'war'. This is 'American Feelgood Theatre', brought to you by

'Someone with ethics'?!? You're thinking about *some other country*, son...

He was probably thinking of the United States of America, 1776-1999,
