Congratulations, you're a swing voter. When they say "NASCAR Dad", they

Actually, due to the circumstances, it was. When an investigations
committee asks you a question you have one of two viable choices. You can
tell the truth, or you can plead the 5th amendment. Clinton chose to
perjure himself. It doesn't much matter what the topic is, as a president,
if you perjure yourself in a senate investigation, it is an impeachable
offense. Just like any other court proceeding, if the question is
sustained as relevant, no matter what the content, no matter how personal or
how much you feel it is none of their business, and you lie, you can be
charged with perjury, fined, and/or jailed. A defendant or witness may be
asked any number of questions relating to their sex life to establish
motive, character, etc. Then Clinton repeated his lie to a Federal Grand
Jury. No matter how you look at it, lying to the Committee, then the Jury
was an impeachable offense under the Constitution.

Not to get technical, but investigations are supposed to investigate
things that already happened -- determine if a crime had or had
not taken place.
"Had or had not taken place."
That's all in the past tense, if you haven't notice.
This imaginary "Investigation" literally CREATED a crime.
By your own testimony here, if there was never any so-called
"Investigation" then there never could have been a crime.
So, rather than the black-and-white situation you would
have us pretend existed, we instead find a situation where
the investigators themselves were instrumental -- critical,
in fact -- to the commission of a crime.
In legal speak, this is most commonly referred to as "Entrapment."

No. The Constitution specifies "high crimes and misdemeanors". No
reasonable person could interpret perjuring oneself about a ***** to
be such.

The House thought so, but the Senate begged to differ.

"They"? I assume to mean "he" as in President Clinton. And no, he
wouldn't, as they only penalty allowed under the Constitution is removal
from office. Jail was not an option, not a penalty the Sentate could have
imposed. Read the Constitution.

LOL! The REPUBLICAN majority Senate didn't even think the matter was
worth considering for more than a day or so, and voted overwhelmingly
to acquit. Get over it.
Had that been any normal, every day joe, they'd
have been sitting in a cell right now over it.
Had it been any "normal, every day joe", Ken Starr wouldn't have spent
millions of taxpayer's dollars investigating matters outside the scope
of his commission, which were completely irrelevant to the
investigation.

The point is - it's relevancy was not for Clinton to decide, nor was it
yours. The Senate Committee and the Jury were the sole arbiters of
relevancy in each of the seperate hearings. He perjured himself, it was an
impeachable offense. There is no gray area to be had here.

Can you explain why the question of whether or not he had consensual
sex with Monica Lewinski is relevant to whether or not he sexually
harassed Paula Jones? The former is not illegal and has no bearing
whatsoever on the reality of the latter.
