Rat ***** ratzinger becomes 206th pope |
It's all over the next. I hope they call him pope adolf the second.
Of course, adolf the first was hitler, ratzinger's idol. What a sad
commentary on catholicism that the Grand Inquisitor and suck ***** for
JP2 has taken over the church.

I am indeed overstating.
It is fact, however, that Vatican theologians issued and caused to be
circulated -- presumably at the order of the old Pope but most certainly
at the command of the new Pope -- a directive that supporters of
abortion, including Presidential candidate John Kerry, were in a state
of mortal sin because of their support for abortion and thus should be
denied communion. The strong implication was that any Democrat who did
not denounce a woman's right to choose was de facto a sinner. Further
was the much trumpeted theological opinion that came from the Vatican --
not refuted until several days latter, and with almost no notice by the
Catholic press -- that Kerry was automatically excommunicated because of
his support for abortion and that an Catholic supporter of Kerry was in
danger of automatic excommunication and eternal hellfire for consorting
with an apostate.
How is any of this NOT a case of a foreign power condemning to Hell for
all eternity any Catholic who would dare to vote his or her conscience
rather than in accord with "Holy Doctrine?"

There was a lunatic right-wing campaign to involve
the Vatican in the U.S. election, and JPII refused.
Yes, there were certain pronouncements made, which
turned out to be INTERPRETATIONS by the U.S.
media & zealots (most not even Catholic), but the
Vatican did make efforts to counter those interpretations.
Your mistake here is in acknowledging the bias of
the press, but not when it conflicts with a preconceived
view of people/groups you don't like.
Come on, like you haven't bemoaned the U.S. press and
it's supposed "Freedom" through all the war coverage,
the rotating list of excuses & the later election coverage?
You knew we didn't suddenly get a new press -- or the
press suddenly became free -- when it came time to
report on Kerry's imaginary religious issues (and only
then).
It was the exact same press -- lacking just as much
freedom -- reporting on Kerry's "Religious Issues"
as was ignoring Bush's lies, or passing along
Whitehouse produced propaganda pieces.
The reporting itself was the point. So long as the press
constantly reminded voters that Kerry is a Catholic,
that's all that mattered.
After all, the religious Reich *Hates* Catholics.

This hasn't answered my question. Why do you care who runs the Church?
firstly, the message isn't going to change that much anyway, and
second, you're real truck is not with the Pope for trying to influence
American Catholics, but with american Catholics for accepting his
influence. If you don't like that, sorry but you're going to have to

And in Europe he demanded that the EU Constitution recognise "Europe's

The Vatican is a member state of neither the EU nor the USA. Its
actions alienated non-Catholics even further than they already were.
Did they honestly expect eg Protestants to vote for a Catholic
candidate under those circumstances?

Um, here on our planet (the Earth) that was the Republicans,
not the Vatican.
There was a right-wing campaign to try to involve the
Vatican in internal U.S. politics (now how unAmerican
is that?), but the Pope refused to go along with it.
Another way of putting it: You're taking something good

Sorry, this is not an attack on your english which is far better then
my own, I am still learning a foreign language here, but is there not
a reference error in the above sentence? It is not the condoms who
spreads AIDS, but the medieval attitude rather.
Is that still okay, because in my native language that construction
would be wrong, so I'd like to know if this is a difference and if
that is okay in English?

No. If the verb had been plural (they spread) it would have referred
to the condoms. The singular verb (it spreads) shows it referring to
the attitude.

No. It is the whole world's business.
Or the Vatican's unwarranted interference in both the European and US

What "anti-Pope side of fornication" would that be? Don't invent
"sides" when there aren't any. Catholic doctrine simply doesn't apply
outside Catholicism. Even though too many Popes (and other religious

This is in no way an *unwarrented* interference. Have you ever heard of
freedom of expression? If the Catholic Church or anyone else wants to
state their opinion with regard to what Europe acknowledges or doesn't
acknowledge, they're perfectly entitled to do so. On the question of
refusing communion, it's *their* fucking communion. They can withhold

Here's a clue: IT WAS THE RC CHURCH THAT "DEFINED" ATHEISTS AS PEOPLE
WHO BELIEVE THEIR GOD DOESN'T EXIST BASED ON THE PRESUMPTION THAT IT
DOES. From the actual and original meaning of one who isn't theist.

They were both unwarranted interference. As well as stupid.

That's binary-thinking Catholic talk.

Nobody is "silencing the church", troll. They are criticising it for
its appalling stance that is causing misery and death. But then you
knew that anyway.

You quite clearly hate them. It shows, for example, in the
capitalisation above, in the obsession with what they think of you,
etc. Liars are ten a penny, do you obsess like this about them all? Let
it go. Ignore them. Get on with your life.

Yes. You did. You still do.

It's an issue for people infected, their relatives, friends, the
medical profession. Sorry, but it's not a world-wide issue.

More assertions in place of arguments.
Is the Vatican a member of either the EU or the USA? Hint: no.
Does it have to be? No. Just as you seem to feel competent to advise
the Vatican about who it chooses as Pope, and are free to make any
suggestion you please on any issue under the sun, the Pope is free to
spout whatever the Hell he likes about the USA, or the EU, or any other
fucking issue or country or person he likes. It's called free speech.
End of story.
Did they honestly imagine that protestants are going to vote for
Catholic politicians who vote the Vatican line?
That's got nothing at all to do with their *right* to attempt to sway
those Protestants. Again, free speech. Doesn't have to make sense, it's
still allowed.

No, it simply states that the Pope is against sex outside marriage. He
is, after all. Doesn't mean I am.
Don't invent

What do you not understand about freedom? People are entitled to spout
*****. Other people are allowed to swallow it. Are you likely
anytime soon to get AIDS because of what the RC says or RC people do?
No. So why all the emotion?
Apart from that, what these people choose to do or not do is

You are attempting to silence it. I need only cite your absurd claim
that the Church doesn't have the right to try to influence the US
elections.
