A vulnerability has been reported in Sendmail, which can be exploited
by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).
The vulnerability is caused due to an error when processing very long
header lines and can be exploited to cause a DoS by sending a
specially crafted email.
The vulnerability has been reported in version 8.13.7. Prior versions
may also be affected.
Spammers don't like this one because their "v1akra" spam can't get to the
client in the client's mail is broken. Spammers running sendmail REALLY
don't like this one for obvious reasons.
If history is any guide the major unix like distros should have updates
out
very soon.
