i think i will tell her though that it is jeopardizing my recovery. 14
phone calls in a day make MY life unmanageable.

if you quit NA, you could also dump all this NA jargon.
when you say stuff like that, you sound like a moron.

plus she's even
starting to call my boyfriend and leave him messages and he can't stand
her. she'll probably start calling my sponsor next.

NA jargon is a load of nonsense. you can sprout off jargon in meetings and
people will nod their heads, but you're not really communicating. you're
just parroting stuff without thinking about things.
discard the NA advice "you think too much". AA had it right when they said
"think think think".

The correct slang expression is "spout off". You need to strengthen your
communications skills. I suggest you take "Hooked on Phonics" .

One of the big problems black people here have 'getting ahead' is their
stubborn resistance to learning English. They prefer to say things like
"spoda" instead of "supposed to" or "crebit" instead of "credit". Without
reasonable language skills it's impossible to get jobs much better than a
janitor or migrant farm hand. They say that they don't want to talk like
a white. They say prejudice holds them back from success, but when
one of them does get ahead, and succeeds at a good job, they'll deride
that person and call him an "Uncle Tom". They claim it is a cultural or
genetic difference, yet when black Africans come here voluntarily, they
learn proper English and succeed at professional jobs as well as any
white or Oriental person. I suggest you take "Hooked on Phonics".
That might accelerate the growth of technology in your country. One
day you might have broadband internet in Africa and won't have to
rely so heavily on the smoke-signal and jungle-drum protocols.

in this case though, the jargon actually means something

she's not jeopardising your recovery - that's just plain *****.
she's not making your life unmanageable - that's just more *****.
all she is, is a pain in the arse.
lighten up. NA people tend to take things way too seriously.

and it means
something that is pertinent to my life. there is something to be said
for keeping my life 'manageable' -- paying my bills, maintaining
friendships, going to meetings, etc.

i do things to enjoy myself. don't know about you.

if my life gets unmanageable, if
my life gets chaotic, i'm more likely to use.

that's NA *****.
circumstances never make it more or less likely for you to use drugs.
at any given moment, at any given time, your chances of using remain
precisely the same.
the part of you that desires (to this day) to use drugs, doesn't need any
reason - it just wants to experience the pleasure of getting high again.

and, when i've got some
crazy b*tch calling me in the middle of the night when i have to get up
early in the morning and make the donuts, well, that is making my life
less manageable.

don't know about you, but when i don't want anyone disturbing me, i unplug
my landline (which only 3 people have) and i switch my cellphone into silent
mode.

sometimes when you share 'jargon' in a meeting, it's
so that everyone knows what you're talking about.

I loathe NA jargon. most of it is plain *****. AA cliches seem to make
more sense.

of course, there are always other instances, like, this guy in the
rooms who always says, 'the therapeutic value is para-lel.'
diana

that's unintelligible. prolly white trash who doesn't understand what he is
saying, but it sounds good to him.
