It would be just as daft as me trying to pretend to believe there
is a god! The problem is that I keep coming up against the
same barrier.
I know that believing something does not make it so no matter
how hard I try to believe. So what point is there in believing there
is a god? And of course trying to believe there is no god is equally
pointless.
The truth is that we simply do not know. We do not know whether
a god exists or not and any kind of speculation or belief is
pointless as it proves or demonstrated nothing. Why is it so
hard for people to accept this?
Of course since we do not know if there is even a god (some might
argue that there must be a creator) we still cannot claim to know
anything about this god and anybody who does is either deluding
himself in thinking belief makes it so or simpy lying. Thus the
gods of all religions have to be fake, and do not exist. There is
no Christian god since it is pure invention. As to a real god,
as I say, who know? It is pointless just to simply believe it
exists.

To digress a little, in order to gain a doctorate (unless it is a
medical doctor) you have to add something new or original to
your choosen subject. A science doctorate needs original
research for example. What could a Doctor of Divinity add to
a belief system that is thousands of years old? Does he have

ingenious that is hard to fault? What does he have to do to merit
the title, or is it one anybody can get easily? Clearly he

Phyltress, I knew someone who prayed for his chest pains to go away,
and
they did. After he fainted, that is.
Also, I knew someone who wanted to join the Queen's York Rangers. So,
he prayed that he could be able to do military push-ups. He was
starting to get them soon thereafter. (the minimum # of push-ups
required for the Queen's York Rangers is nineteen.)
