Re: Abortion = Terrorism |
President
Bush has worked to say<<
Bush is exploiting our fears, pretending to be doing something to assuage those
fears, when in reality he is a big part of the problem and no part of the
solution. I don't know why the Religious Right continues to support him. As
was pointed out on this newsgroup recently by someone else, he's the President,
and congress and the Supreme Court are controlled by Republicans. Why aren't
they banning abortion, gay marriage, allowing school prayer, and all that other
stuff that the religious right elects them to do? They all just pay lip
service to it, do nothing at all to advance those causes, while going to the
mat to push through wartime tax breaks for the ultra-rich and misleading the
nation into a war which would have never been fought if Iraq didn't have the
world's second largest oil reserves. Just toss in a line in a speech every 6
months or so about "protecting the unborn," while, in reality, doing nothing
for the unborn but ensuring that they will spend their working lives making
interest payments to the People's Republic of China.

I don't know if they are particularly clever or if Americans are just
unusually naive, but this strategy has been quite successful in
getting ordinary people to vote for politicians who take away their
rights, get them killed and make sure they have less money, while the
rich get richer.
