Re: ACLU Says Texas Town Must Rent to Illegal Aliens |
This is so stupid. All the landlords have to do is rent to them, take
their money, and call INS. They could keep the money, and once word got
out, no illegals would ever rent from them again.
Or do that 'without' taking their money?
People who do stuff like that, victimizing people because of their race or
immigrant status may realize the hard way that they may face a strong
legal penalty.

Of course. Not only that, it's immoral. But that doesn't faze people.
I'll bet they would get away with it. Who would complain?

Reporting illegal's to the INS is a waste of time, they are already
***** deep in illegal's. Short handed, and way behind on the paper work.
Only way to stop it is huge fines for employers, and strong
enforcement of that law. As of now employers profit from the INS
locking up their employees just before payday.

There are programs like that in place now but the paperwork is beyond the
ability of the average employee. They just don't have the time to do it.
The government has little incentive since the vast majority of these people
pay social security and have but billions into it with little or no chance
of ever getting it out.

Well counter balanced by their failure to pay any income tax. I have a
friend who does the books for a small company that hires illegals. Even
the 20 year olds claim ten exemptions. The government is getting about
what it can unless they start doing audits. Hell, they do not even
cross check the social security numbers being used.

didn't lift a finger to do so.

Mexican had been traveling a hell of a lot further, and would have.

My area raises a lot of Yams, and timber. Hay is also a big crop.
With out the Mexican workers, all of these industries would have to
reduce production, or go out of business.
My brother in law raises Yams on about 500 acres. After the harvest
he allows locals to glean the field for missed potatoes. Few bother,
free Yams. Plowed up lying on the ground, too big or too small for the
market.

I'd let them rot also but ask him if there is a Gleaners in the area that
collect and distribute food to people, usually over 50 and occasionally with
income limits. While most of their food now comes from stores and
resturants, we still actually glean now and then.

There are such groups, and some individuals, that take advantage of
this common practice. But not very many, one fellow harvests several
tons each year to feed his hogs.

And this is the Government you expect to stop illegal immigrates?
Hell they pay rent to tax paying republican landlords, and sales taxes
at the local stores. Most don't earn enough to have a income tax due.
Many employers still hold out and keep income taxes. The only way to
stop illegal's from entering the country, is a crack down on
employers. Put a few hundred of them in prison and release thousands.

They do cross check social security numbers. The SSA will send a list to
employers and ask them to tell the employees that the numbers are wrong
and that the employees should go talk to the SSA to get things straight.
The letter also says that the employer should draw no conclusions about
this letter or these errors.
