I used to be a Christian (age 0 - 18), then I was a liberal Christian
(age 18 - 29), and now I'm agnostically atheist. I don't believe it
is logically possible to ever prove or disprove the existence of a
hypothetical being that created and presides over all that is, and
even if it was possible then I wouldn't worship such a being because
from what I've seen of the world such a hypothetical being would be
a
fucking sadist.

Agnostic atheist? It's like a female being 'half-pregnant'.

You've been slowly creeping towards the ultimate truth. Can't come to
believe that it's 'logically possible to ever prove or disprove the
existence of a hypothetical being that created and presides over all'?
Well
*you* don't have to. It's up to the theists to prove their claim that
'God'
exists. They can't. And that being the case, there's no need for you
to
'disprove' them. Not one single human being that has ever walked on
planet
earth has ever proven a 'God' exists. No proof, no need to 'disprove'
something that the 'asserter' insists is true. It's up to *that*
individual
to do the 'proving'.

I suppose that if someone ever forced me to pick labels, I'd say
that intellectually, I'm an agnostic -- but in my gut, I'm an
atheist. I wouldn't try ever to logically defend saying that there's
no god, but my feelings and my actions aren't influenced by
any suspicion that there actually is.

And if it turns out that there actually IS a god, I strongly suspect
that It will turn out to be nothing like what any religion -- any
religion --
has ever imagined.

If it is different than what the Judeo-Christian religion defines as God,
then it's not God. They have that name copyrighted. Call it something
else.
How about calling him Coco? I think I can play the God role, for
appropriate
compensation. I know I'm not like the God in the bible, but you seem to
be
open minded and willing to accept that. Are you surprised? You shouldn't
be,
you expected a surprise!
Well, here I am, the God that no one has ever imagined!
Please send a donation!

Hmmmm...well, give me my hair back, and then we'll talk, OK?

-- cary

I'll do my best, but I need the money first. Most people go to church, pray,
make a donation, then go home and wait for their prayers to be answered. If
they're not answered, it's because the Lord works in mysterious ways. I work
in mysterious ways too, but it's worth a try.
Where's that check?

No no no: miracle first, THEN dessert.
