Just curious what you all think.. I do not know if there is a god or not,
but I was raised as a christian. Get this: I go to church every week and
try to follow the "10 commandments" even though I have serious doubts as
to whether they are but the work of a human hand. My faith is nil but I
try to act "as if" Jesus is Christ because i fear hell.
If God sends people to hell for not believing that Jesus is the Messiah,
then He is a monster. If He is a monster, there is no certainty that He
will send you to Heaven even if you do believe in Jesus.
By definition, whatever "God" does is 'good.' I find it quite telling
so many Christians with the attitude "someone has to go" shift 180
degrees when they personally are in the metaphorical cross-hairs of
their deity's 'largesse.'
Be the kind of person you would like everyone else to be, and don't waste
a lot of time worrying about things that you have no control over, anyway.
Easy to say, hard to do when there's emotional turmoil. If the turmoil
reduces then many things follow.
