Re: Anyone that supports Terry Schaivo's death should be killed |
I want all you do-gooders who like to tend vegetable gardens chip in and
pay the $80,000 a month public funds for Terri's prolonged life(?) of
serenity. Count me out, okay, Bible Thumpers?
She's always grinning and I think I know why. The way she feeds is
absolutely hilarious. There's a hole drilled in her belly and the
attendant sticks a hose in it attached to a funnel. Then the attendant
pours her lunch out of a pitcher right into the funnel. To add to the
spectacle, right after feeding, she needs a quick diaper change. That's the
total extent to which she returns something back to the world in exchange
for her keep.

Her blood relatives have said that they
will take care of her.
You mean her blood-sucking relatives will take care of her money.
In 15 years, the total amount contributed by Terri Schiavo's
parents to her care and treatment: $*0*. Nada. Nothing. All
their own money they have spent on themselves and none on her.
In 15 years, the total amount of the insurance settlement
awarded to Terri Schiavo that Michael Schiavo has wasted on
selfish personal use: $*0*. Nada. Nothing. All the money
given to him was spent on his wife's care.
Meanwhile, at the time of the settlement, Schiavo's parents
sued Michael in an attempt to receive some of the money. Only
now, after years of trying to obey Terri's wish not to be kept
alive and only because the money for her care is running out,
is Michael asking that she be removed.
Please explain how her parents, who contributed nothing to her
welfare and care since Terri's brain death, are better equipped
to care for her than a husband who attended her daily for
fifteen years.

She told her husband that she would never want to live like this.
She is permanently in this state and is never going to be better.
If you were to make a will for yourself, would you want to live for

This case has been seen in 6 appellate courts and all have sided with
the husband.
She is in a persistent vegetative state and will always be.
No sane person would want to remain that way.
In the state of Florida, in cases like these, they defer to the spouse
if there is nothing written down.
Not mommy and daddy of a grown, married woman.
In the 11th hour, the republican controlled congress wanted to FORCE a
judge to side with them in this case.
That is not the roll of a Federal judge, his is to review the case,
and make a ruling.
After doing so, Frist stomped his feet and made like a little kid, mad
that the judge did not rule with THEIR wishes.
I guess he never heard of checks and balances before.

Why do you meddlers think that he "suddenly" remembered?
You have NO idea what has been going on in his mind. Maybe he, like
Terri's parents, was in denial and thought she could get better.
Maybe he finally reached the final stage of intense grief: acceptance.
You don't know what has been going on in his mind, and quite frankly, it
is none of your business. A terrible decision had to be made, and,
legally and morally, he was the only one who could make it.
The way Terri's parents made a public spectacle of a decision that was
never theirs to make is sickening.

Actually that is almost exactly what happened. He tried for quite a

Actually, a lot of people in their 20s discuss what they would like to
happen if they become a vegetable. Hell, I even discussed this when I first
found out what a vegetable was, in my early teens. I certainly discussed it
when I was in my 20s talking to my wife, and I'd imagine so would most other
young couples.
They just might not know about living wills (in 1990, who did know about
them?), or maybe they believe it's something to get around to doing some day
when they're older. Or maybe they'd believe that their spouse would simply
unplug them, and that would be OK with the law.

How about you?
I certainly never considered it and was probably more likely to than most
people at the time.
I worked for a FBS (Fucking Body Snatcher, known to others as a Funeral
Director) and when I quit at 21, the first thing I did was arrange to have
my body donated to science. This was not an easy task in 1962 and I would
have had to pay for the transportation. So far it's been a waste of time.
I'm considering it now but since I live alone it is unlikely that they would
bother trying to get me going again.
There is a good chance I might break the law I passed back then.
A dead body *shall* be found within one day or not for at least six months.
(You have no idea what three days dead under an electric blanket can do.)

If you were to make a will for yourself, would you want to live for
decades in a bed with no brain, or would you rather be left to die and
go to a better place?
If I wanted to die, then I would make a living will. Terri did not since
she did not want to die in such cases.
Oh baloney. Some people just don't get around to it. My husband is a case
in point (though he's getting one written up this week). I guess if
something were to happen to him, our numerous conversations on the subject
wouldn't be good enough, huh?
If you were shacked-up with your current boyfriend and had a couple of
children by him, then NO! Your word wouldn't mean *****!

Tacking onto my own post here.....What does your scenario have to do with
the current situation? I thought we were talking about what Terri told her
husband. What does someone living with their boyfriend have to do with the
conversation? Are you saying that the conversation between Terri and her
husband has no validity because he's living with someone else? How so?

And that incoherent sentence you just drooled is proof that you're a total

I believe it is quite impossible that he failed 6th grade. No 5th grade
graduate is that ignorant in the usage of the english language.

I wonder if he could have divorced her, if he had wanted to.
