GRATUS DICTUM:

A few minor points, Kansan, lest we card carrying members of "Legitimist
revolution for the reestablishment of Monarchy" accuse you of lese
Majesty.

Thank you, Joseph, for all the insights.

Another celebrity at the Hungarian Grand Prix was Archduke Otto:

The Archduke ("Erzherzog" in German) is the son of the last KuK,
i.e.,
Kaiser und Koenig, Emperor and King, the Emperor Charles I of Austria
and King
Charles IV of Hungary.

"Otto" is the Grand son of "der schonste Erzherzog" and son of "Karl"
the Great nephew of The Emperor Franz Joseph who became Crown Prince on
the death of his Uncle Franz Ferdinand, assassinated at Sarajevo, June
28 1914. The last Emperor of Austria was "Karl IV" not Charles I. He
and his wife Zita of Bourbon Parma were the Parents of "Otto" the
pretender to the throne of Austria.

Charles II, iirc, was the son of Maria Theresa, the first and only
Empress in her own right of The Holy Roman Empire, and a contemporary of
Frederick the great.

So even accepting the Anglicization of "Karl" as "Charles" it should be
IV not II

Baron von Te und Stiffel

I think he was Karl I of Austria, not of the Holy Roman Empire. They went
back to scratch after Austria-Hungary was established, after Napoleon had
abolished the Holy Roman Empire.

Archduke Otto's father was the last one to wear the crown

of St. Stephen.

Archduke Otto von Habsburg belongs to the Habsburgs, the
longest-ruling
dynasty of the Holy Roman Empire, later known as Austria-Hungary.

The first Holy Roman Empress Adelheid ("Heidi") was the wife of
Otto I,
the mother of Otto II, and the grandmother of Otto III.

Heidi Klum has revealed to VEGAS magazine (inaugural issue,
Summer 2003)
that sometimes she has used the last name "Otto" when traveling, to
preserve
her privacy.

The first King of modern Greece was a German, Otto, a Prince of
Bavaria,

Actually a Dane, brother of Alexandra who was the wife of The Queen
Empress Victoria's' son Edward VII. And she, Alexandra, was the daughter
of Christian of Denmark. Also the sister of The mother of the last Czar
of Russia (Nicholas II).

born on June 1, 1815, having the same birthday as Heidi Klum, born on
June 1,
1973.

The last King of modern Greece, Constantine the 13th, another
ethnic
German,

The Danes might argue as to the ethnic claim.

The Royal Family of Denmark, the ancestors of Constantine the 13th, come
from Gluecksburg, Germany, a small town just south of the Danish-German border.

lost his throne on June 1, 1973, on the very day that Angel Heidi was
being born in Germany.

Constantine the 13th lost his throne on the eve of his 33rd
birthday.

Who just happened to be the Uncle of the present Queen of England's
Consort H.R.H. The Prince Philip (formerly "of Greece"
Sondsburg-Glucksburgh etc. etc. ) Mountbatten, Duke of Edinburgh.

The September 2003 issue of "Vanity Fair", with Prince William of Wales
on the cover, has a detailed chart about the different relationships between
the Royal Families of Europe. The cover story, "The Case for Kings" (p. 400),
was written by Prince Michael of Greece.
