Maybe you have a Muslim Bible, but my copy of the
James Ver. Bible (which is the most "poetically" translated)
doesn't mention that above in Ezra 9 1-3. However, it
would hardly be surprising that ritual purity would imply
ritual impurity (the meaning of the vulgar term "filth").
I can't find anything in the Testament(s) which advocates
death, torture, and murder of non-Jews today (the wars
of conquest after Moses ARE rather criminal and barbarous
(and God is described as one of the generals); but even in
the time of the Judges the enemies of Israel seem to have
been just as criminal and barbarous, so it's hard to judge
--no pun intended). The point remains that Jews/Christians
are not taught in today's Jewish or Christian Schools the
murder of non-Jews and non-Christians at ever opportunity
.... unlike Muslims, who today are very much taught as much.
(A somewhat questionable effort is underway in Saudi Arabia
now to begin to change this. Let's see how that works out.)

I shall not defend human slavery here. But merely point out
that the Leviticus passage above is, rather, a legal ruling
against Jews having Jewish slaves (meaning that if Jews are
going to have slaves -bondsmen- they must not be Jews):
Compare that to white southern Americans who still had slaves
(not white fellow southerners) NOT 3,000 years ago but less
than 150 years ago. And compare that to Muslims TODAY, who
STILL hold TWICE as many slaves as ALL the Africans that were
ever ferried across the Atlantic as slaves. I think that says it all:

I am not Jewish, so I can only leave the defense of the
Talmud to Jews who may have better knowledge of it (and
I say, "may" because, frankly, Jews and Christians nowadays
have better things to do than to indulge their superstitions).
I can but say that where the Talmud (or, indeed, any Christian
writings) make criminal and/or racist statements: I condemn
them all. I hope you say the same about the Koran and other
Islamic writings in your reply to this post... if you are Muslim.
But I doubt you will condemn the Koran for its racist/terrorist
commands: See, that's exactly my point: While Christians & Jews
today have no compunction rejecting evil whatever its source
Muslims still teach and advocate ALL the evil in the Koran.
The history of Western Civilization is PRECISELY the struggle
by our secular/humanistic traditions against the ancient folly
of OUR more primitive, barbarous, and superstitious times:
In fact, it's possible to even encapsulate "the thing" we call
"civilization" itself as that struggle & its whatever victories.
A struggle which you Muslims have hardly even this late in
history even begun to fight yourselves. That is the entire point
being made right there. And that is what you and your fellow

If you can find any Jewish school where this, and things
like this, are taught to Jewish students as something in
any way, shape, or form resembling historical truth... please
write the local Jewish school board where that school is
doing it. And I am sure the school board will reward you
handsomely for the favor. [On the other hand, hindu schools
today are doing all they can to gloss over the holocaust of
Hindus at the hands of Muslims... to help Hindus "live in
peace" with their Muslim neighbors: Personally I disagree
with this approach because I am a firm believer that no lie
can best the truth (that all lies are deadly). But that's me.]
You naively believe that our Koranic quotes are here to
point out how brutal, primitive, and savage Islam was at the
time of their writing. They are not: The quotes are here to
illustrate how brutal, primitive and savage is what is being
taught to Muslims today. I'd like to think that once the evil
in these superstitions are no longer being taught to Muslims
today (as no doubt Jews/Christians were once taught theirs)
.... Jews, Christians, and Muslims will be able to get together
and laugh at how ridiculous ALL our superstitions were. It's
just that for now unfortunately Muslims just haven't rid
themselves of any of their superstitions (while Christians and
Jews have rid themselves of a great many of theirs). And
nobody's laughing.
Perhaps this will go a long way to helping you understand
(if nothing else... that the free exchange of ideas is NOT
good because it allows us to insult each other, but because
it really DOES allow us to gain each other's knowledge).
