WE LIVE on a crisis-filled planet; a momentary glance at newspaper
headlines confirms that fact each day. The desperate state of our world
has caused many to question the existence of God. Some, claiming to be
atheist, even deny his existence. Is that true of you?
Belief or disbelief in God can profoundly affect your outlook on the
future. Without God, the survival of the human race is entirely in man’s
hands—
We all know that over a billion strong believers in God that Muslims are.
Are you too a believer in peace brought about by God- or don't you read the
newspapers?

Hello,
Yes the Muslim religion claims to be the religion from God. But let's
compare it to another one.
Jesus believed he also represented the true religion from God. Here is
one of Jesus' commands. What do you think would happen to all of the
world's wars on this planet, IF all people obeyed just this one single
command from Jesus? Mt 5:44,
"But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute
you," (NASB)
Sincerely, James

_Who_ believed? There is no evidence that this Jesus is anything more
than a fictional character. By the way, what religion do you think he
would have believed in, had he ever existed?

Isn't this supposed to have been said on that mountain I got drunk on
15+ years ago? The city of Haifa is there? Plenty of evidence of
xian love going on in that neighbor lately......sometimes I wonder if
xians didn't create the state of Israel just to keep the mideast
stirred up.

WE LIVE on a crisis-filled planet; a momentary glance at newspaper

Are you too a believer in peace brought about by God- or don't you read the

Hello,
Yes the Muslim religion claims to be the religion from God. But let's
compare it to another one.
Jesus believed he also represented the true religion from God. Here is
one of Jesus' commands. What do you think would happen to all of the
world's wars on this planet, IF all people obeyed just this one single
command from Jesus? Mt 5:44,
There is nothing in Christianity that is not borrowed from older (often
pagan) religions.

I also read history, During the Middle Ages, the Catholic Church had a
stranglehold on its subjects. “The hierarchy seemed ill equipped to deal
with the spiritual needs of the people,” notes The Encyclopedia
Americana. “The higher clergy, notably the bishops, were recruited from
the nobility and saw their office mainly as a source of prestige and power.”
Some, such as John Calvin and Martin Luther, tried to reform the church.
Their methods, however, were not always Christlike; intolerance and
bloodshed marked the Reformation. (Compare Matthew 26:52.) So vicious
were some attacks that three centuries later Thomas Jefferson, the third
president of the United States, wrote: “It would be more pardonable to
believe in no god at all, than to blaspheme him by the atrocious
attributes of Calvin.”
Clearly, the Reformation did not restore pure worship. Yet, it reduced
the power of the Catholic Church. No longer did the Vatican hold a
monopoly on religious faith. Many joined newly formed Protestant sects.
Others, disillusioned by religion, made the human mind their object of
worship. A liberal attitude ensued, allowing for diverse opinions about God.

You're obviously well read and an intelligent fellow. Why then, do you
persist in this baseless assumption of yours that a 'God' exists? Where in
the hell do you 'see' him? What do you see that we atheists don't? With your
intellect, you can surely see the ignorance involved in maintaining
something exists which no man in history has been able to prove, exists.
Don't you think that there would be *something* in our universe that a
theist could point to and say, '*that's* God!'? How utterly ignorant, yes
ignorant, your position is.

The Vatican never held a monopoly on religious faith, nor did
Christianity in general. The overwhelming majority of people were
never Christian. Your provincialism is showing.
