I did use it for a while, but I can't really see the point in all those
extra buttons.

if i want to examine headers, i just hit 'H' and there they are.
if i want to resend an email to someone, i don't need to forward it. i can
just open the message in the outbox, edit it (if need be) and resend. i get
the option of creating a new sent message, or replacing what i sent before.
busy switching over to Thunderbird v1.0.5 for email though.
it does HTML email (Forte does not). It also has an Edit Message As New
function, which works on both sent and received email.
You can label messages - at present, only 5 labels (and I need lots more) -
which allows you to colour-code emails (either manually or via Filters you
set up). You can see at a glance what a message is and you can sort by
labels too (as well as a ton of other options).
One of the niftiest features is the Junk mail button. Once you have enabled
Junk Mail control (from the Tools menu), you can start clicking the Junk
mail button for every unwanted email you receive. Pretty soon, Thunderbird
will know what you don't like and automatically redirect those messages to
the Junk folder. it's actually quite a lot of fun now, receiving spam.
Thunderbird is 5MBs (much smaller than OE) and you can get it here:

Boy, Officer & Squirrel
A policeman caught a nasty little boy with a penknife in one hand and a
squirrel in the other.
"Now listen here," the policeman said, "Whatever yo do to that poor,
defenceless creature i shall personally do to you"
"In that case," said the boy, "I'll kiss it's butt and let it go"
