Well, I guess it is time to break the big news. As I stated a while back,
my SRS is scheduled. What I haven't revealed, until now, is when. I
considered waiting to reveal it until after it was over, but I found out
that I won't have Internet access in the hospital. So, I guess I will tell
now.

This Friday, I will have my surgery. I'm not, of course, providing any
details about where, or who. Everything is in place. Unless something
really major happens, it is on. I've cleared all of the medical hurdles,
and about the only possible hold up would be a major emergency that ties up
the operating room. If that happens, it will be postponed perhaps, but
otherwise, I will have it Friday.

My time has come, and I am ready. I am sure that the usual idiots will now
join together in full chorus. I may actually enjoy their cries of anguish
at my good fortune. As for the rest, well some will understand what I am
going through, having been there. Others will think ahead, as I have so
many times, to the day when it will be their time.

Down the road, I will share my feelings and experiences. At the present, as
a good friend, who is many years post-op put it, "It all seems a bit
surreal." But it is a good sort of surreal.

Simply put, this is not a race. The first one across the finish line
doesn't win, and the last one doesn't lose. Unfortunately, some idiots
don't understand that. But fortunately, most of them, like at least two
here, have to make up stories about having finished the race, when they
obviously haven't. For the record, claiming orgasms a week after surgery
is pretty silly. A week after surgery, you would be destroying your
doctor's work if you tried.

And all this will give a whole new meaning to "Thank God It's Friday."
