I think it's a fine idea. It will get the anti-science Fundies and their
kids out of government funded schools and leave the rest to learn science,
without having religion pushed down their throats.

Sure. Since they probably will not be goint into a job market that
doesn't involve science, like stocking shelves, flipping burgers,
moping floors...
Weird. I've managed to become quite successful without involving
myself in either science or shelf-stocking or burger-flipping.
One might think from your comment that those were the only
alternatives.
It's a euphamism for "any job which does not require critical or
logical thinking".
Okay. And my comment still stands. I've managed to become rather
successful both as an attorney and in federal law enforcement without
ever needing to use science. Whether I was taught evolution or
creationism in grade school would have had zero effect on my success
later in life.
Is this the excuse that lawyers use when they shoe horn the evidence
into their arguments to fit their desired outcome? ;-)

Unfortunately these so-called parents are not qualified to determine
what "real science" is. Instead they brainwash their poor kids with
17th century supernatural nonsense. And nobody is pushing anything
down school-kids throats... all parents have the option to get their
kids taught in private schools or at home, which is exactly where
religious education belongs.
That way the world will have real scientists in the future.

It's a shame the children will have to suffer for their parents'
foolishness. Although with what I've heard about home schooling's
effects on children's social skills, it could be that scientific
ignorance will be the least of their problems.

True, I could very well be over-generalizing. I've only met a few
home schoolers in my area, and they tend to be extremely right-wing.
But the average might be much more moderate.

Painful demonstrates what we can expect from such children.
An inability to understand what was said and willful ignornace of the
meaning of the word theory.
Homeschoolers arise. Today we voted that evolution is a myth, tomorrow we
vote on gravity.
Mention should also be made that technology gets a rather big boost from the
theory.

I doubt that CotPT is home-schooled. Home-schooled children are much
brighter than he is. While it is true that some religious parents are
home-schooling due to perceived immoralities in public schools, there
are many other, and better reasons, to home-school. For instance, one
can learn evolution instead of waiting for the rest of the class to
catch up and learn that water is a liquid.

So how many points have you amassed so far? You *must* be a Loki
troll. Nobody could really be this stupid.
Alas, I can see that you have not been around this newsgroup long enough.
He really truly can be, and is, that stupid, in all his guises (Skywise,
COPT). See the thread that deals with "Georgia to Shun Evolution in
Schools" to see how he was completely taken in by a satire casting ridicule
on the creationists, and reposted it without permission (as usual) as if it
somehow supported the creationists.

Sure, if you consider inbreeding "experimental genetics"....

Yet another victory for "special creation." Skydrip will have some

That would be "real science" that willfully ignores the convergence of evidence

well, _obviously._ By not knowing anything about those fields, the
kids will be well prepared for food service careers.
Unfortunitly, no. A lot of the food service industry depends on
bacteria and yeast. As you know these microorganisms are invisible to
the naked eye. One must use a machine created with secular science to
see them. If these kids are anti-secular science, then they have
limited careers in food service. Even the cleaning crews have to know
about bacteria to clean properly.

And disease, after all, is God's judgement on a sinful people. If one of these people infects hundreds with
hepatitis, it will be *God's* will.

I think it's a fine idea. It will get the anti-science Fundies and their
kids out of government funded schools and leave the rest to learn science,
without having religion pushed down their throats.

That way the world will have real scientists in the future.
Can you say "Eyes Wide Open"
Can you say "Go away Skywise".
I'm fully in favor of Creationists taking their kids out of public school.
Gives the parents plenty of time to teach them to be domestic servants for
all those evolutionists when they grow up.
