And where did I ever say an atheist was "required" to prove my beliefs?
You can't even prove your beliefs. As I stated. So how on earth could I let
you try to prove mine?
You aren't required to do a damned thing, except pay your taxes and die like
the rest of us. Hopefully you'll pay your taxes and get on with the other
bit soon.
I see you still haven't learned anything, "angelicusrex".
I don't believe it is possible to learn anything from fools, except what
fools are like and how not to be a fool.
Are you incapable of learning?
Yes. I am incapable of learning from jackasses. Happy?
Are you getting your fair dose of attention now?
Atheists are not required to prove the non-existence of God.
If you argue in a public forum that God does not exist, you most certainly
are "required to prove" that argument or shut yourr mouth about your beliefs
and simply tell people "This is what I believe..." If you have no evidence
or proof that God doesn't exist, then you can't simply assert it as a
universal truth. Your assertion that God does not exist is as empty as the
assertion that God does exist. As a logical argument both of these
assertions are unprovable and flat.
Christian: "There IS a God"
Athiest: "You've shone me NO proof of this god; show me proof"
Christian: "Well, Prove there isn't a god"
Do you see the error in this christian's demand?
There is no known instance of any society for the past six thousand years of
written history that did not worship some god or another. Some invisible
spirit seems to have been worshiped by everyone, everywhere up until the
present century, when true atheism, {the belief (keyword: BELIEF), that
there is no intelligent, moral or spiritually just or punishing being which
created our universe and that God is a myth}, raises its head a bit to look
around and spit some vitriol.
"Everyone else believes it, so it must be true"
Athiest's don't "believe" there is no god. They say there is
absolutely no proof for a god, so they put 'god' in the same category
as unicorns.
See the difference?
However there is no majority of atheists. There is no atheist organization
presently which has much effect on world affairs, there are no atheistic
nations. True, China is founded on Communism which denounces religion,
however the multitude of the people believe in some sort of god or goddess
or spirit or "luck" or something spiritual disapproved of by their own
government. Atheism then is a minority belief system which really has
nothing to offer mankind in the way of service, hope or a better, brighter
future. It is in effect, simply another way of looking at things. It is not
science nor is it truth nor is it High Intellect.
So... you're saying athiests have nothing to offer mankind? Athiests
never volunteer service to their community? Athiest offer no hope to
people in war-ravaged and other empoverished areas? Athiests don't
make the future brighter for all of us?
If you really believe this, you have a sad, and quite wrong opinion of
who athiests are...
Not ALL scientists are athiests, but many are... and athiests don't
normally claim any sort of higher intellect than christians...
Athiests simply say there's no proof of a god and christians never
offer up the proof. (quoting from the bible doesn't count proof)
You however are not even an atheist, you are simply a vacuous, annoying
anti-Christian, and there is a difference. A real atheist would never
consciously go to war against a myriad of NGs over whether God exists, over
whether faith is good or bad, or anything else. Most atheists are happy with
their own belief system and like to be left alone. They do not prostletyze
their views. The few who do are usually overwhelmed by a flood of hatred of
those who claim to have religion. There have been a few famous, worthwhile
atheists who took on the task of trying to express their points of view. But
you, Diddly are not one of them. So really, who cares what you think?
I think you're correct on many levels here... in generaly, Atheists
are happy with their lives nor do most (if any) don't prostletyze. I
think most radical athiests that you thing are "anti-christian" are
simply worried that the christian agenda includes making christian law
the law of the land (forcing all non-christians to live by it).
The "hatred" you precieve may simply be your feelings that some people
don't like YOUR prostletyzing.
I make no claims. I assert only my own, personal beliefs.
You claim there is a God. Athiests say "until you show me proof, I
see no reason to believe you"
Again, this is not Debate 101. I've debated enough decent and intelligent
people to know when I am up against an idiot. In a war of wits, you are an
unarmed opponent. I do not like to fight unarmed opponents.
Cliches will get you now where at all. Purhaps if you were to take
Debate 101 at your local community college, you'd see the light,
so-to-speak.
Now, like Roy's tiger, you've been fed for today, troll boy. Hopefully you
won't find a reason for some new scathing attack. Two reasons animals
attack, fear and hunger. Are you so afraid of religion that you find it
necessary to crosspost to nearly everyone's spiritually based groups in
order to offend them? Or are you just hungry for some prideful and pathetic
"accomplishment" of bashing the naive or the less educated over the head
with your graceless, tactless and morbid wit and wisdom
I know this post wasn't directed towards me, so I'll let the insults
slide, but many people are afraid of religions (both christian and
muslim) since many religious zealots would LOVE to place their
religious leaders in charge of their nations... and we all know where
that leads.
There's a slippery slope between judges placing a religious docrine
carved in stone outside their courtrooms to quoting scripture from the
bench. Some non-religious (or people of DIFFERENT religions) are very
afraid of such things.
