Any time I point out something screwed up in my
friend's arguments he eventually says "Doesn't
matter, doesn't change who he was and who I am
because of who he was."
Anyone got a good retort for that?

Do you actually have a "friend" or are these really your own arguments
that you're testing out on atheists?
Either way, the above one sucks because of the blind assumption that
the mythical god/son of god actually exists.
These two guys came to my door not long ago and were trying to
convince me of God's love. I asked them how they knew, and one of
them put his hand over his heart and said something like, "I know in
here". That was the only thing he could offer. He went blank when I
did the same thing and said, "I know in here that there is no god."
I told him that the ancient Greeks knew the same thing he did, but
about Zeus. He asked me who Zeus was. So what "your friend" is
really saying is this: "Doesn't matter, doesn't change how ignorant I
am and how determinedly ignorant I intend to remain."

Yup. I actually have a friend who was making these arguments. I'm not just here starting *****, I promise (like that
really means anything on the internet, but whatever...).
