Christianity is death worship

1jon2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.
If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

I think that in this verse "the world" is a reference to the physical,
contrasting it with the transcendental, i.e. 'the world" is not a
reference to life itself.

phi1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

2Cor5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from
the body, and to be present with the Lord

This does, however, sound like someone who is tired of life.

And you Jews wanted nothing to do with a king who's kingdom was not of
this
world. You wanted a civil revolutionary - not a revolution of the soul.

So what do you think the nature of the revolution of the soul is?

The Greek word is *metanoia*.

Do youu think that repentance is necessary for such a change?

Of course.

Repentance implies recognising the problem (be it an attitutude or
behaviour) and then addressing that problem. By what standards should
our attitudes and behaviours be measured?

But those teachings were not available in Jesus' day. How would Jesus
have had the people of his day interpret his saying: "repent, for the
kingdom of heaven in nigh"?

Jesus was on hand.
It seems he wanted people to submit to baptism and then identify as members
of His movement.
The gospels are rather contradictory. On the one hand He says "my yoke is
easy and my burden light", on the other he forbids a prospective convert
from even burying his father, the most sacred duty of a Jewish son.

Burial is not a sacred duty.

Doubtless Jesus would have resolved these apparent contradictions.

Yes.
The chuch

also does so.

How so?
Maybe not in exactly the way Jesus would have done, but

sufficiently well as to provide a reasonable approximation to his teaching.

He didn't say "approximate ye perfection to a reasonable degree", he
said "be ye perfect".
