Book burning? I don't know. Open burning laws. Some years back when a
local priest grandstanded with a couple book burnings, a university group
made up stencils and spray-painted city trash cans with "bible disposal

LOL! That is funny, but vantalism isn't a very good answer to a priest
acting like a good Nazi.
Parents? Intelligent national standards. Not all civilized countries
have local control of education. It's pretty radically anarchistic, for
good and bad, when you think about it.
Funding public schools better would be an excellent first start.
