The Declaration only talks about Nature's God.
I don't remember hearing Gaia in the Bible.
Wasn't the author of that hypothesis due to be born a few
generations AFTER the Bible was authored?
Moron.
Sure Jefferson was born after the bible was authored...but its clear
that he never intended "Nature's God" to be the monotheistic God
mentioned in the Bible. he was being far more vague than that.
And I don't know why you are calling him a moron.
Doesn't sound as if ol' Tommy received too many Holy *****-unions, does it?
"The clergy [wishing to establish their particular form of Christianity] ...
believe that any portion of power confided to me will be exerted in
opposition to their schemes. And they believe rightly: for I have sworn
upon the altar of god, eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over
the mind of man. But this is all they have to fear from me: and enough,
too, in their opinion."
