Re: Earth is only 6,000 years old. |
Here's one that I have in all my years never, ever, received a
reasonable answer to from a Christian.
Rev 14:1b-3
There before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion,
and with him 144,000... And they sang a new song before
the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders.
No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had
been redeemed from the earth.
"How come anyone is Christian, if god only takes 144 thousand people to
heaven?" Even after "6000" years of exsistence you would think the
place would be full by now.

The date forever tied to Bishop Ussher appears in the first paragraph of the
first page of The Annals. Ussher wrote: "In the beginning, God created
heaven and earth, which beginning of time, according to this chronology,
occurred at the beginning of the night which preceded the 23rd of October in
the year 710 of the Julian period." In the right margin of the page, Ussher
computes the date in "Christian" time as 4004 B.C.
Ussher began his calculation by adding the ages of the twenty-one
generations of people of the Hebrew-derived Old Testament, beginning with
Adam and Eve. If the Bible is to be believed, they were an exceptionally
long-lived lot. Genesis, for example, tells us that "Adam lived 930 years
and he died." Adam's great-great-great-great-great-grandson, Methuselah,
claimed the longevity record, coming in at 969 years. Healthier living
conditions contributed, or so it was believed, to the long life spans of the
early generations of the Bible. Josephus, a Jewish theologian writing in
the first century, explained it this way: "Their food was fitter for the
prolongation of life.and besides, God afforded them a longer lifespan on
account of their virtue."

It doesnt mean God only takes 144,000 to heaven. It means they have some sort
of role to play that is not described.
An interesting item.
The F-117 has a skin called "Iron Ball", which I have already mentioned that
I produced some of the batches of the material.
Matthew 1:17-Thus there were fourteen generations in all from Abraham to
David, fourteen from David to the exile to Babylon, and fourteen from the
exile to the Christ
Revelation 12:5
She gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a
rod of iron.

Revelation's also should not be take literally. Much of it is symbolic
and is not fully understood today, the 144,000 is believed to be the
good Jews. Many Christians will also go to heaven, but not till
judgement day. Only Saints and the 144,000 will go to heaven before
judgement day. The rest stay in the ground, or purgatory till
judgement day.

Actually I not sure that Revelations does not belong in the Bible, it
should have been struck when the cannonized the Bible. I am only
stating the belief.
It seems a more acurate vision for the fall of the Roman Empire than
the end of the earth. The 144,000 would be the Jews and perhaps
Christians who were spared during the sacking of Rome. Yet another
belief knocking around Christian circles. But of course people full of
hatred such as yourself, find every oportunity to show your hatred and
stupidity.
I guess next you will point out my spelling or grammer mistakes to make
yourself feel smart.
